5.0 out of 5 stars It's been great for us

It looks as though the case is hit or miss for people. Thankfully, for us it is a hit and we've had no problems whatsoever with it. My six year old son can easily open and close the case by himself and we've yet to have the case open on it's own (about 5 weeks of use).

2.0 out of 5 stars Didj custom carrying case
I have bought several items(toys) from Leapfrog and they have all been great. After I bought the Didj I couldn't wait for the custome carrying case to come out so I could extend the life off the Didj in between my kids playing with it.

I have bought several items(toys) from Leapfrog and they have all been great. After I bought the Didj I couldn't wait for the custome carrying case to come out so I could extend the life off the Didj in between my kids playing with it.
The case itself is sturdy. But it snaps shut and doesn't lock shut with a clasp. It unsnaps open very easily. The case holds cartridges but just by pressure and has no mechanism to ensure they do not come out. I have already found the cartridges on the floor in our mini-van.
Advice to not waste your money and buy some sort of video carrying case.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not LeapFrog Quality., October 27, 2008

My son just received this case today as a gift. We were really looking forward to having a sturdy, cool-looking case for his Didj and games. Although it looks cool, the quality stinks. From the moment I took it out of the box, the case did not stay closed. There is no way to ensure that the case stays closed - no lock, latch, zipper, or anything. I have always been pleased with the thoughfulness of LeapFrog's toys, so I'm shocked at the lack of thought that went into this case - especially for the price. Save your money and find another alternative for your Didj. If you want to store or carry the Didj safely, this is NOT the way to go.

It looks as though the case is hit or miss for people. Thankfully, for us it is a hit and we've had no problems whatsoever with it. My six year old son can easily open and close the case by himself and we've yet to have the case open on it's own (about 5 weeks of use).

The case is a hard plastic, with a foam inside. My son only has two games right now, but they easily fit into the recessed areas within the case. True, if the Didj is not also in the case, the cartridges do move freely, but that hasn't really been a problem for us as usually if the case is in motion, it's because the Didj is inside and being transported. The Didj itself fits nicely inside, very snug. The clasping mechanism is purely a pressure one that "clicks". Again, this has proven no problem whatsoever for us in being too hard or too easy to open/close. It just...works.

The case comes with a wrist strap to attach to the Didj by stringing it through existing holes on the controller. There is also a cutout area in the case itself that allows this strap to come out, and so be used while the Didj is inside the case, as well--a nice feature.

The size is very nice, as it is low profile enough to not be cumbersome. It fits the Didj and four games, nothing more, making it ideal protection for everyday, all the time use. We keep the car adapter and headphones in the car, next to my son's seat, for times when he'll need those items. He doesn't need to carry them with him all the time and I didn't want or need a case that would hold *everything*. I'm glad that this case holds exactly what it does.

Overall, the case is slick looking, well functioning, and easy to use. At least for us.

Update 2/18/09: my six year old wanted to show how easy his Didj case is to use. See attached vidio review.

This case is not worth the money. It will not stay closed. My grandson uses a rubber band around the case in order to secure his Didj.

I think the Didj case is great. I almost didn't buy it because of the reviews I saw but couldn't find an alternative case so decided to try it out for myself and am glad I did. The case is durable yet light weight and shuts tight and holds up to four cartridges. The Didj has to be inside the case for it to shut close. My six year old daughter even uses her didj while it's inside the case. The case maybe challenging to open for younger kids (my 3 year old can't open/close it which may be a good thing). I recommend this product.

4.0 out of 5 stars A must have to keep the didj safe..., February 1, 2010

I suppose I probably have a few of the gripes that others have had with this case. Probably the worst part is the actual storage, or lack of it, that this case provides. So, dod what we do. Buy the small case for the Leapfrog Crammer, put the cartridges in that, then put the Didj in this. This case is made of a very hard plastic so the Didj stays a ton safer in this than it would in a soft-side bag. Or, put this in this case, then buy your softside bag and put the cartridges in that as well as the Didj. For as delicate as the Didj as proven to be, this case is a must-have. Highly recommend!

The one thing I wish they would incorporate into the case is a space for 2 extra batteries and a penny. (to open the didj battery case) Otherwise, the case works. It's so nice to not have it in a ziploc anymore. My 7 year old got this for his birthday on Wed and although he still hasn't mastered opening it, I think once he gets figures out the trick, he'll be fine. I like that it stays shut. I'm happy with it.

I bought the case to go with the new Diji I bought my daughter for her birthay. The case is not made well and is very hard to open and close. You are better off finding something suitable on our own to store it in. It would be nice if a case came out that would store the games a well without being a piece of poor quality plastic. This was a disappointing purchase.

I have not had any problems with the case flying open as other reviewers have noted. Initially it was a little tricky for my 8 year old son to use, but he has gotten the hang of it. The screen on the Didj is easily scratched, so a case and a screen protector are both good investments.

1.0 out of 5 stars Case is cool to look at, but doesn't hold, January 3, 2009

We got 2 cases free with a promotion from a retailer. No wonder... they really aren't that great. The DIDJ fits nicely enough, but the case unsnaps all too easily. I'd hate to risk damaging the electronics inside if the case were to fall out of small hands. We chose to use a small camera case instead.
