This may have it's place but it is not as a "radio". I mistaken purchased this thinking it had 30 "songs" on it, what it actually has is 30 different pictures on little half moon discs that you flip to see different pictures and if you press the button next to the picture it plays a "tune and sings" for a few seconds about the picture. We also noticed that it only has a couple different tunes and just changes the word for the picture. It has a sippy cup with white in it and one with orange in it the tune just plays and says milk or juice depending on the color etc. The round ball in the center draws attention but when it's touched or bummed even lightly by accident it changes from english to spanish/spanish to english. This is meant to teach children words but some of the pictures I didn't even know what they were like the pajamas. I feel calling it a radio with 30 different songs is misleading we sent it back and will keep looking for a "radio" that plays childrens songs.

We got our daughter this toy for her 1st birthday and she loved it, was playing with it while it was still in the box. She love the cute little songs that go with the pictures and the way the flaps work just like a book..the handle is great, she carries it around where ever she goes! It is a great travel toy as well, lights up, and good for night trips.
I think it is very educational as well, it has objects that a child this age actully uses, and the english/spanish is wonderful. This toy is worth the money, i would recommend it to any parent, and if your child like music and lights it the best!!

I bought this item yesterday for my Nephew and my husband and I can already tell it is going to be one of his favorites. He loves pushing the buttons and dancing with the music. He is fifteen months old and this is the perfect vehicle to help him along as he begins to speak his first words. I agree with all of the other reviews, in that the english/spanish button is a little too easy to push and I don't know how confusing hearing the different languages without understanding that they are flipping back and forth on him so quickly is, but other than this, I think this is a wonderful teaching tool as well as a great toy. I don't think you can ask for more than that :)

Our daughter has learned many new words in a few short weeks just from playing with this toy. The only drawback it has is that the English and Spanish button is in the center of the toy. So, she is always swithching back and forth.

Received as a gift when my daughter was 10 months old. At that point, the only button she could push easily was the large center one--the English/Spanish switch. Now, at 12 months, she can press all of the buttons. She likes to dance to the songs the toy plays. She giggles and chatters along with the spoken clips. The toy seems to be strong, and we're still using the first set of batteries. Overall, a great toy. I would like to see the buttons resized to make the language switcher slightly less prominent than the others.

My daughter really enjoys music and songs. This little radio has a short song for every image (an english and spanish version). We love that it's bilingual, since she is learning English and Spanish from us. My daughter loves being independent, so the fact that she knows that she can work it herself it a big plus.

Alright, so a few reviewers had some problems with the volume and espanol button, and sure, that's pretty legit. However, when my 15-month feels that the toy is too loud, or I tell him it's too loud, he knows to turn the volume down. Easy enough. As far as the spanish goes, the button is easy to hit, which is great. I think that's point of a language learning tool. My only issue would be that I can't always make out the spanish words. The enunciation is terrible. Overall, it's a great toy- super durable.

My daughter and I received this as an adoption gift to welcome her arrival from Russia, and it has been one of the best toys that she received. At 2 years old, she loved being able to push the buttons to make music. As she learned English, she loved acting out songs ("pat your tummy; pat, pat your tummy") or answering the toy's questions ("Is it a bunny?...No,it's a dog") Even though she's now fluent in English, she still enjoys playing with this toy at 3 yrs old because she loves the music and cute voices. It's been very durable, and the batteries are still the originals, too.
I would recommend this for anyone as a new baby gift, toddler gift or for any child who needs to learn to speak English.

A different kind of radio,

Our daughter received this on her first birthday. She wasn't too interested in it at first, but has since grown to really enjoy it. It's not really a radio. It's almost more of a see and say, with a little music. But it has so many options, it's great. When the child pushes the button next to a picture it tells what the name is, and sings a very short song to go along with it. I am very thankful there is a lower volume option, as our daughter likes to hear the same songs over and over. I also really like the option to switch everything into Spanish. This has been a great way to teach our daughter some basic Spanish vocabulary. Overall, I would recommend this toy as a helpful vocabulary builder.

We gave this to our grandosn for Christmas. He has been enjoying it from the time he saw it. It appears to be very durable because he is a little boy and plays hard.
