5.0 out of 5 stars Great Addition to Tag Library!
My 3.5 year old daughter loves going through this set of well-designed, informative cards with her Tag reading pen, and then later she'll repeat to me something she's learned, like, "Hey Mom, did you know that sea turtles lay their eggs at night to protect them from predators?" It's really cute and entertains her for a long time during "quiet time" while her sister is...

3.0 out of 5 stars Tag limited memory, choose your books wisely
Our little girl got her Tag for Christmas last year and along with it she received a few books and two sets of National Geographic activity cards. She spends more time looking at the books than the activity cards. The cards were fun for a while, but I will be removing the activity cards from the Tag unit to make room for new Tag books.

My 3.5 year old daughter loves going through this set of well-designed, informative cards with her Tag reading pen, and then later she'll repeat to me something she's learned, like, "Hey Mom, did you know that sea turtles lay their eggs at night to protect them from predators?" It's really cute and entertains her for a long time during "quiet time" while her sister is napping in the afternoon. The cards seem quite durable -- made of heavyweight paper and are linked at the top so they can't get lost. Each bird or sea creature has two cards with nice photographs and probably three or four pieces of information to be gleaned by the child. And there are a ton of interesting ones -- probably 40 animals or so? She has actually taught me a few things that she has learned from these cards! A nice complement to the fictional books in the rest of the line...

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE these!, February 11, 2010

My son has had his Tag reader for about four months now, and this is by far his favorite "book" to use with his pen. They're durable, heavyweight cards, tied together with a clip at the top, which is a huge plus so I never have to worry about cards all over the floor. Each one has a few fun facts about the animal, along with pictures. They're educational in a fun way - my son (3) loves to tell me about what he has learned about the penguins and turtles. I think the land mammals cards are just a little more fun, but these are a fantastic addition to the Tag library!

My 4yo really enjoys these card. He loves sea creatures so this was a natural choice for him. I've learned some new facts as well. However, most of the time he will choose a book over the cards.

Thank you Tag for designing these excellent add-ons for the tag reader. My 4 year old has LOVED these activity cards. They are chocked full of interesting facts and she keeps coming to me and saying "mom did you know!?" Fantastic addition to any tag reader's library!

Works well, good size for small hands. I don't like that you have to download audio after you buy the books. It should be easier to use than that. An account to use the items purchased seems intrusive. My very active 5-year-old grandson is only mildly interested so far. I am hoping as he experiments he will find more to keep him interested.

I've invested a ton of money into this Tag stuff, and I LOVE it. Unfortunately my kid isn't feeling it yet. She may be a little young, she's three but she is already able to sound out small words. I swear this is a wonderful, durable, well-designed product and I just know she'll grow into it.

Specific to the birds/sea animals deck & the land mammals (?) deck, they are very sturdy, have great pictures, and tons of educational value.

My 4 yr. old daughter is really into animal "facts" This is a perfect way for her to entertain herself while I get some things done. She will use this system when prompted to but rarely goes to it by herself. Overall, she enjoys this and it has gotten some good use.

Our oldest is 4yo at this point, and she REALLY loves animals and nature, so this was a perfect gift for her. She loves hearing the noises the animals make, facts about those animals, and where they are in the world. She loves to share these with us, and she just soaks up the information.
