Lanny Poffo is not only charismatic both in and out of the ring but also in his writing. Lanny truly has a gift for both rhyme and storytelling which shows through clearly in this book. While fans who have become accustomed to his in ring poetry will find this book more than satisfies their craving for more humorous and witty lines, fans who are looking for a deeper look into the man will find that he is every bit a private individual and that this book is the closest we are ever likely to get in terms of him discussing his personal life both in and out of the ring unless he writes an autobiography.

I own and have read most of the books written by professional wrestlers and this one is definitely in a class by itself. Unlike most other books by wrestlers Lanny actually wrote this one by himself. I think that is why it is so different. There is no middleman and no wrestling promotion involved in toning down, editing or even outright removing whatever Lanny chooses to say.

While this book is enjoyable you will find that the 172 pages go by quickly and that they will leave you wanting even more of perhaps the most fascinating member of the Poffo Family.

Buy the book. You won't regret it!

This was Lanny's first rhyme book and it is great. Lanny covers nearly all of the stars of the then-WWF. It brings back so many memories as I read poems about such legends as Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper, Andre the Giant, Randy Savage and Jake the Snake. Lanny doesn't stop there though, as he also has poems about lesser-known, but equally entertaining wrestlers such as George 'the Animal' Steele, Junk Yard Dog and Hillbilly Jim. Even beyond that, Poffo tackles a few non-wrestling topics.
This book is a delightful romp down memory lane. It is a total feel good book, from a totally positive person. If you ever have the chance to meet Lanny, make sure you take it. You can't help but like the man.

If you are a wrestling fan or not I believe you will enjoy "Wrestling With Rhyme" and anything else by Lanny Poffo! Mr. Poffo is a good role model for todays' youth because of his clean living and overall positive outlook on life. All of these traits show in his poetry. I loved Lannys rhymes when he was with the WWF, they never failed to get the crowd going...Reading Wrestling with rhyme, brings back alot of great memories. And is filled with alot of great rhymes. A must for any wrestling, or poetry fan...

Well, at least he isn't dead. I give him 5 stars for that, though I will take back every single one the moment he drops.

I was sooo excited with Lanny's outstanding book Limericks from the Heart(and Lungs!),that I just HAD to purchase his other book Leaping Lanny: Wrestling With Rhyme! I wouldn't consider myself a huge wrestling fan, but don't let that dissuade you from buying this awesome book which is absolutely wonderful! Lanny is the new Shel Silverstein!

Poffo, aka "The Genius", writes poetry that is all about the World Wrestling Federation. He also includes poetry on other topics in the "out of the ring" section. The poems are very entertaining, and this book would be an excellent addition to any wrestling fan's collection.

What do you mean you have to be a wrestling fan to enjoy Lanny's poems? I hate wrestling. I love Lanny's poems. The one about Special Olympics was a poignant tribute that would have made the late Shell Silverstien proud. Bravo Poffo!

If you're a fan of the former days of wrestling like I am you'll love this book. It deals with all the former wrestlers that we grew up with. Lanny has a poem about all of his foes and partners. He really nails them on the head. Great job, I hope there is a sequel.

I especially loved the poem "Just Say No." This book is a book for all ages with an insight and sensitivity that only a man of intelligence can possess. The subjects are real; the information accurate, and the content above average. I would recommend this book for anyone, not just a wrestling fan, and it makes a great gift for a young reader as well as an older person. If you love poetry - you will love this book.
