As someone familiar with Adobe products, and having used Premiere for about a month, I didn't really think I needed these videos. After all, I knew the basics. I only picked them up hoping to learn a few of the advanced features.

But I was really blown away with all of the tips and tricks that I learned in just the first couple of lessons. While I was getting the job done (Adobe is pretty intuitive and has lots of great videos online), I was often doing it the hard way. Because of the way the material is organized, it is easy to go through and learn.

Click here ... drag here ... this is where you do this to make it easier. And just click this little button to make everything go back to where it was! It's like having a professional sitting in my computer who knows all of the tips and tricks I need to know.

Maybe I would have learned these things over time, but the videos saved me countless hours of frustration and "self-teaching." The only way that I could have come close to the information in the videos was by taking a professional course, or two, since most focus on Photoshop OR Premiere.

And I don't know about you, but I find myself more likely to watch a video than to plod through written lessons. No matter how dedicated I am, as soon as I can do what I want, I put the book to the side. With these, I simply watch (and remember what I'm interested in). If it comes to something I want to do, it's easy to stop the video and work directly in the program.

The printed guidebook is a helpful reminder from the video lessons, and is a good reference tool once you have been through them, but you WILL want to watch the videos. Each one is only a few minutes long, so they are easy to watch.

You probably won't need these if you are a pro - but for beginners (that's those of us who buy elements anyway), it's a nice classroom in a box, and for me was well worth the money I spent.

I am new to Adobe Photoshop & Premiere Elements 8. Considering you can take Adobe as a class in some colleges, I knew I would be overwhelmed. This video does a really good job of explaining things. Don't get me wrong, I am still overwhelmed, but at least I can refer back to the video OR book whenever needed. It divides everything into catagories and from there into individual video lessons. I just started looking at it tonight (to be honest I have barely scratched the surface of everything on the disk) and although it could be useful for advanced users, it is mostly geared towards beginners. It remembers which lessons you have watched so you can pick up where you left off. I think this program also quizzes you periodically to make sure you understand (haven't come across that part yet, but like I said, I just started it). You can also have Adobe running in the background and minimize the video tutorial to apply what you have learned. Overall I gave it 5 stars because of the content and value (this was the only video learning software I could find that had BOTH Photoshop and Premiere Elements in one...everything else was Photoshop OR Premiere Elements, and this one was STILL cheaper).

This video & book can help someone like me who did not know anything at all. I'm playing the video all of the time to move my learning skills up on making better home movies. I think you need video to get going and to understand how the software works. This is a basic course and they say this in the video.This video shows you short cut keys to use. The great thing is you can play it over and over again so you can learn on the screen.

I haven't sat down as a student in ages and approached this with trepidation. While I only wanted to learn a few key things in order to advance my desktop publishing skills, I went along with this video from the first chapter to the last in learning Photoshop Elements 8 [but without any interest in the Premiere lessons].
My own aesthetic is pretty bohemian, while the instructor here is a sort of "good ol' boy" with an easy nature and a keen interest in sports photography. However, his instructions were cohesive and not [for the most part] overwhelming. The only lament I would add here is that while there was a great emphasis on the "Histogram" while editing, I came away from this particular aspect feeling that more should have been explained with regard to this particular feature.
I advise anyone who purchases this video tutorial to keep their own Photoshop program open while following the lessons - even if you are tempted to just rush through a chapter.
All in all, I am quite gratified with this video - with no buyer's remorse.

Most of the books or classroom type instructions sort of leave you half way to learning the product. This video based instruction takes you right to what you are dealing with. I have almost all the other instruction publications for Premiere Elements but this is a much quicker & simplier way to get your hands around the program.

I upgraded from PSE 5 to PSE8 and thought it was time to actually take advantage of more of the program than I had been previously. I purchased this DVD on the recommendation of the reivews and have been happy with it. This DVD covers both Elements 8 and Premier Elements 8. I am primarily focusing on Elements 8 for my needs. It is a good beginner to intermediate course. Easy to follow, easy to bookmark areas you want to go back and reveiw again. The information is presented in a clear and easy to understand manner. The lessons are short but very efficient in regards to examples presented. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to learn, or brush up on PSE 8 or Premier 8.

This video met and exceded my expectation. Guess I am a visual type of person.functions are covered in a clear and concise way.

I found the Video2Brain Tutorial product for Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 and Premier 8 to be excellent.

However, applying what I learned to the Adobe Premiere Elements 8 product was a completely different matter.

I thought I had given myself every opportunity to succeed; New HP Intel i7, Windows 7, 9 GB RAM, plenty of disk space, new camera, Adobe software, tutorial, time to put it all together..

The Adobe Photoshop / Premiere Elements 8 software FREEZES UP OFTEN ..

It is certainly not the fault of this tutorial....

I will keep at it ..but I thought it was suppose to be fun ............ so far it is NOT ..
