1.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Worthless, March 12, 2000
This review is from: Learn Turbo Assembler Programming in a Day (Popular Applications Series) (Paperback)
If I could give negative stars, I would. To start with, the first word of the title is a lie--"Learn". The author spends a full FIVE PAGES or so explaining every thing there is to know about Assembly Language (and anyone who has even dabbled with Assembly knows this to be an impossibility), then goes on to provide some of the most lame, unproductive, totally forgettable "Routines" that tell the reader nothing about what Assembly Language does. That the back cover of the book claims it is "for the beginner" is even more reprehensible than the title of the book itself-- "Learn Turbo Assembler in a Day." What's next from these people? "Memorize the complete works of Shakespeare while you sleep?" (Actually, that might be a good companion piece to this book, as the people who are reading it are most assuredly sleeping.) Having read plenty of books about Assembly language, from beginner to advanced, I have to say that this one, without a doubt, is the most useless-- I wish I had paid my money for a book filled with blank pages; at least then I could have made some good use of the paper.
