Helpful book, great for kids,
By A Customer

I bought this book for my 7 year old. She was learning how to write cursive at school but was still having some difficulty. This book really helped her overcome her struggle by allowing her to learn at her own pace. The techniques, such as first tracing the letter with your finger, proved successful. After a two weeks of reading the book and completing the exercises, my daughter's handwriting has drastically shown improvement.

This is a workbook for early beginners learn cursive. You can wipe off the surfaces again and again, so that's helpful. I would recommend this for a child just starting out learning cursive. Unfortunately, I needed something for a child father along. But we did go through the entire book and especially liked the helpful arrows showing how to write the letters. This cursive style is more of the fancier D'Nealian. I have found the "Writing Without Tears' much easier to teach, easier for children to use, and less complicated. I think all these little flourishes that teachers are still insisting on will one day go the way of typewriters. Most of us will (and do) use a more simplified style that can be written faster. That's what's now taught mainly in the U.K. That said, buy this if you want a reusable simple workbook.

This product was recommended for my son who needs occupational therapy for his handwriting. So far it's working great. He benefits from being able to write directly in the book, and he enjoys using a damp paper towel rather than an eraser to correct his mistakes. I'd like to know what to do to get replacement pencils, though.
