Before watching these videos, I was honestly very doubtful that they would be able to teach me bachata. 3.0 out of 5 stars Good moves and instruction but poor production
This was a new dance style for me and my wife and we liked the moves and instruction but the DVD production is terrible. Every dance step has several menus to navigate and each item has a several second intro with the same theme and music which gets really really annoying and time consuming when you are trying to quickly learn and repeat the steps.

Before watching these videos, I was honestly very doubtful that they would be able to teach me bachata. The dance always looked difficult to me, like something you have to grow up around to be able to do it. But my girlfriend was really excited about it, so we decided to check it out. I was surprised by how great these videos were, the quality is very professional, and they have a smart way of teaching people from several dance backgrounds at once. The very basic step of bachata has 3 varieties, each one a little more advanced than the last. We learned the easiest and built up from there. It did not take long before I could really feel improvement. I can actually lead this dance now! We are excited now for the opportunity to show off our new skills. I would recommend this series to anyone.

I have about 5 years of salsa dance experience, but I've never formally taken any bachata classes. I've just never heard of anyone teaching it in my area of the globe. These DVDs have been great for me to expand my bachata steps. (I've only really known the side to side basic and turning side to side.) I really recommend these DVDs.

The price might seem like a lot but considering the fact that a single 45 minute private dance lesson goes for $85 at a dance school, these DVDs are sooo worth it.

The production quality is excellent. Instructions are clear for both leaders and followers. The instructors demonstrate the moves from different angles so you can see what going on with the arms and legs from the other viewpoint. Not only do they teach dance moves, but also introduce some bachata history and tips on proper etiquette at dance clubs. (For example, don't refuse a dance with someone, and then accept to dance with a different person during the same song!)

A good DVD production is the Salsa one from Raul & Tenia. There is only one menu with the patterns, you click on the dance you want and you are there.
