I was hoping for a step-by-step guide for theprincess's faces and there are several faces but the book doesn't provide many steps (you kinda have to figure it out yourself). It's still fun and I can do them as an adult after a lot of erasing but my girls (who are 7 and 9 and for whom I bought the books) have a lot of difficulty with them.

I bought both Favorite Princesses (2010 but 2013 print) and Enchanted Princesses (2012 but 2014 print) because I did not know what made them different. I am now able to offer this information to anyone interested.

For starters, both Learn to Draw books from Walter Foster are useful for people who wish to learn how to draw these characters. With practice it will help you draw the faces of the characters more accurately, making them look like drawn by the original artists. But they wont make an artist out of someone who aren't such already.

Now, the first obvious difference is that "Favorite" contains info on how to draw the side characters and it also have short "The making of" articles on some of the movies. "Enchanted" only contains only the princesses. However, there are plenty of differences between drawing the princesses that make me recommend getting both books, but perhaps give the makers some criticism. I am going to cover these differences below for artists interested in drawing them. I will refer to the books as "Enchanted" and "Favorite".

One thing first - I do miss info on how to draw Ariel in human form. Neither book have this info.
I also miss info on how to draw the face of Rapunzel. I know she's 3d and not actually meant to be drawn in 2d, but I also understand that the 3d is based on 2d artstyle. I also hope to see a new book soon with Frozen characters.

* Enchanted have extra shaded full body drawings of Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Pocahontas and Mulan. Favorite do not have these.
* Enchanted do NOT have instructions on how to draw the face of Aurora but Favorite does! (seems like a major mistake imo).

No it is not a perfect book, and won't make a begginer a fantastic artist. But it does give you a basic drawing lesson on quite a few Disney Princesses. I love these books, and will continue to buy them for a reference.

It's an OK book. Good art, but I wish it was more in depth. It's more geared toward the younger crowd.
