Santa Claus brought a copy of this book for each of my newly adopted sons, for their very first Christmas. It was such a relief! The boys were struggling to learn English, with the help of English speakers, and it wasn't very helpful. (Imagine trying to learn a new language as someone jabbers at you, in that langauge). I'm a firm believer in "Learn it right, the first time around, and you'll be better off in the long run!" We played the tapes in the car on the way to and from school, each day. The boys would high-five and laugh out loud, as bits of grammar were explained to them, which they couldn't ask about (with their limited English) and couldn't understand when people were trying to explain it (in English). For example: Russian has "gender" (male or female) attached to practically EVERY noun. It's a grammar thing, and doesn't really make sense apart from grammar. (What gender do YOU think a chair is???) As any rate, I remember the boys' HUGE relief over finding that English doesn't have grammatical gender! Within a year, both boys were accurately fluent in English. In the case of one son, his RUSSIAN improved, as well! I HIGHLY recommend this product for adopters.

My two new students from Ukraine really like this book. It is helping them learn English quickly. I would recommend this to and Russian speakers who want to learn English quickly.

I sent a copy to special a friend over sea's, who wants to learn english. She love's it. She live's in ukraine, and was unable to find a good book herself.

I teach Russian immigrants at Grace Family Church in Carmichael CA English so they can become employed and American citizens. I used the similar book to learn Russian the Fast and Fun way, so deciding to use this book as my textbook made sense. I use this book for the first of a two hour class and supplement it with vocabulary and grammar In addition we read from a dual-language book for the final 15 minutes of class.

I purchased Learn English the Fast and Run Way for Russian Speakers for a family that recently immigrated. Learning English has been a struggle for them. With this set of CDs, they have been able to listen to the CDs throughout the day as they are doing various things around the house. The husband has been building a Rec. Room for someone and he listens to the CDs as he works. He has found the Russian explanations understandable and very helpful.

I was a tad disappointed that it didn't include much in the way of conjugation verb charts and word lists.
