This review is from: Learn Golf in a Weekend (Learn in a Weekend Series) (Hardcover)
I enjoyed this book very much. I found that it's very informative and easy to follow. As as beginning golfer myself, the instructions and photos in this book have helped me a lot. I can now hit the ball almost every time and use all my irons and woods. This book has shown me every single detail of golfing from holding the club to hitting the golf ball with a full body swing. The instructions given were easy to remember. When I was practicing my golf swing at the driving range, I would remember almost every instruction given. I would recommend every beginner read this book. The authors do a wonderful job of explaining the way that golf should be played.

I had been golfing with an all consuming enthusiasm for about a month when I grew frustrated at how much I wanted to know and how little the experienced players around me knew. I accidently ran across this book and it was as if the windows of heaven opened and a heavenly choir revealed to me the secrets of golf. EVERYTHING IS IN HERE. Everything you need to know about your clubs, all the gear you need to have and how to use it, the basic rules and etiquette of the game, how to score (so you don't feel dumb asking questions in the middle of a round), the mechanics of all the shots, basic course management and more. And easily one of the most effective how-to books I have ever seen in terms of using illustrations. I now own over two dozen golf books, and this book ranks equal with the classics in terms of actual practical use. It is also an excellent quick reference for the non-beginner also. If you are starting to play golf YOU HAVE TO HAVE THIS BOOK!!!
