The selected songs were very well picked. The level of playing ranges from beginner to slight intermediate. I loved playing the pieces (for me, an internediate level pianist with 5 years of lessons, it was just right, because it brushed up my rusty skills, but was disappointing because the pieces were really samples of the original arrangements. Most of the songs consisted of only one page, so don't expect to find simplified full versions, rather, expect samplers from this book! But still great if all you are after is to be able to play the introduction to the pieces, for fun and relaxation.

My daughter's piano teacher uses the book as one of the core books to teach her students. The classical pieces in the book are fun and shortened versions of famous classics that we've all heard at one time or another. My daughter likes the book a lot that she's picked out Symphony #40 as a recital piece. The book also includes short bios of the most famous composers which is a good reading for the children.

This book is an encouragment to all those who are learning piano such as myself, not a child any more. I love the classics and learning to play piano from this is exciting.

I took this book out time and again from our library. I finally bought it. I love this book- nice historical information and the pieces are indeed easy but sound very rich and full
