Child and family friendly,

I wasn't sure how I could add one more thing to my busy schedule. I have five children. When I told my oldest two boys that part of their home school curriculum this year would be learning Spanish, the oldest said "I don't like it!". After his very first lesson, he announced "I love Spanish, it's the best!"Learn Spanish With Grace is beautifully designed to create a desire to learn Spanish in the children. The instructor on the CD is very positive, the activities the children do are fun, and the songs are an excellent way to reinforce the vocabulary! Even my four and two year old are "singing" Spanish. One last comment: The four oldest children are boys. I wasn't sure if they would sit for lessons. My seven year old sat over two hours by himself one day because he wanted to keep practicing and doing the activites. This is definitely a child friendly program!

This is an outstanding Spanish program! The book alone is wonderful( beautiful illustrations, activities and explanations) but combined with the CD you have an unbeatable approach to learning Spanish. The music is upbeat and very easy to understand. The songs are to tunes that are easy to memorize. My 2 year old loves to sing "Buenos Dias"! Our family is learning Spanish together ( ages 2-11) and loving it!

Best Spanish program!,

This book is the perfect blend of beautiful presentation and ease of use! By following a young girl, Grace, and her family through their daily activities in song and through easy to follow pages along with CD, the child learns to speak, read and sing Spanish! Color illustrations catch the child's attention and keep it. Also, it is thoroughly Catholic throughout, with the child learning the Sign of the Cross, Grace Before Meals, Our Father, and much more! You are going to love this book!!

Great idea, poor execution,

I purchased the workbook and CD combination for my 5 year old. I liked the idea of expanding my daughter's Dora-and-Diego spanish and I loved the idea of learning Catholic prayers in spanish. Unfortunately there are several things about this set that I really didn't like. First of all the CDs aren't something that you can listen to seemlessly from beginning to end--they are VERY choppy in that you either need to stop and start over and over again or you need to find what you are looking for and put in on repeat. There is also waaaay too much english on the CDs. For example, I don't need a CD to tell me to turn to page xyz and do an exercise (which often comprises and entire track!). For me, the biggest reason to purchase a workbook with an accompanying CD is to have lots of stuff on the CD in spanish! I also found the workbook and CD lacking in dialog and/or monolog. Yes, you get lots of vocabulary words, but I thought there would be more of..."Hi I'm Grace and I go to Catholic school and this is my day..." in translation, of course!--I was looking for more of a way for my Catholic-school-attending daughter to identify with "Grace". I must say, though, that the prayers that are on the CD are beautiful...although I found myself wishing for more...Act of Contrition? other spanish children's prayers???

This Spanish program is a perfect compliment to my home school. It is a very easy read and SIMPLE to teach...So simple, that the kids forge ahead themselves and they learn easily (and painlessly). You do NOT have to know Spanish to teach this course to your children. The full color pictures, accompanying booklets, and musical cd make this program so enjoyable for all ages! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
