Editorial Reviews

First released onto the market 2 years ago, Paul's courses have met with huge success: Review of Paul Noble Method by The City Magazine: "Relaxing and listening to the CDs, I found that I seemed to absorb the phrases taught, without even consciously trying, and quickly felt confident enough to play around with the different components and make my own sentences." Reviews by Amazon customers: "This is the most remarkable language course imaginable. I've tried several courses but this is on another planet. It is amazing!!!" "Paul Noble has a very relaxing and informal style to his teaching... I can already tell that my spoken French has improved permanently." "At last, an easy way to learn a language! Easy to understand plus an easy one to pop into the car CD player and use on the move, so no more 'I haven't the time...'" "The language is explained in a simple way and the teacher doesn't use complex grammar terms... For me, though, the absolute best thing about it is that it has allowed me to speak in full, proper sentences in French... A fantastic course and a well deserved 5 stars!" "I am pleased to report that this is really good fun to use because as you listen you are encouraged to CREATE VOCABULARY AND PHRASES FOR YOURSELF out of the bits of structure that you are picking up. Not only is it a completely non-threatening process but it is also entertaining in itself." "For those who love languages but struggle to learn them this is a wonderful resource."

About the Author

Who is Paul Noble? Paul Noble is a genius, yet he still left school unable to speak a language - he found that the traditional learning methods left him feeling 'confused, incapable and unable to really say anything'. Determined that there must be a better way to learn, Paul spent years devising his own unique method of learning languages which cuts out all of the grammar, all of the rote learning, and all of the stress. He began using his method to teach in his Language Institute and, hundreds of students later, he prides himself on never having had a student fail.

Usually the present tense is what is taught first but these CDs are a little unorthodox. Paul Noble uses the past tense (actually the present perfect)in the beginning. He has a reason for using this tense first which I found in CD 10. He uses many tricks to learning the different tenses and one of them incorporates the present perfect tense. His method of teaching is very smart.

I am remembering everything Paul is teaching because I only have to remember the tricks. You would think this 12 cd audio program would have more information on it, but because it gives you time to answer questions that is not the case. I have to say this is the only why to learn. I don't care how much learning information is on this 12 CD set because I am learning everything at a great price. Yes! everything thing. Why does it take a simple European audio program to do what all the American programs have not done for me? Now, I know why all the Europeans know how to speak many languages because it is there education system.

great feature is having two Translators:
First Translator - South American Spanish
Second Translator- European Spanish

The CD box is poorly designed with each CD placed on top of each other and almost touching. I feel in time this design will scratch the cds.

In conclusion, This is the only way to learn spanish:
Step one- teach, Step two- question me, step three -I answer, and Step four- then I am given the answer in two forms of spanish. Five Stars outstanding!

I'm a big fan of Pimsleur Spanish but found myself forgetting why things are said certain ways because Pimsleur rarely discusses rules. Paul Noble uses many similar memory techniques and principles as Pimsleur but his approach is different. He gives more memory aids and associations to remember why things are said a certain way. You don't even have to remember these because he'll remind you again right as you forget. There is more repetition and practice on core rules - especially when it comes to past and present. He doesn't provide a massive vocabulary but does provide a good foundation for how the language works. The lessons are presented in context of typical tourist situations. Some of it seems too simple but the reason becomes clear later as he begins to build more complex past and future sentence structures. If you are getting stuck with Pimsleur this is a refreshing companion CD set that will clarify what's been confusing you. Available on so you can get this at a good price if you buy bulk credits.

I think this is pretty much a con job. The narrator speaks in English and he has hired 2 Spanish speakers to translate his phrases into Spanish. Big deal ! There is so much repeating of those common phrases (disguised as practice, practice) that you do learn those few phrases but not enough to converse in the new language. You may be able to ask for a table in a restaurant and order a coffee but this can be learned from any cheap foreign language phrase book or through the internet. Overpriced gimmick.
