From the Publisher

The Pen Notes books are educationally sound and have all been approved by the Board of Education. Parents everywhere will find LEARN TIME an exceptionally practical, easy to follow guide for helping young children learn the concept of time. In addition, there are pages that permit the child to use their newly acquired skills in fun and educational games. All Pen Notes books include a non-toxic color pencil.

From the Inside Flap

Note to parents: Telling time is learned gradually. You will be using this book often, for an extended period of time. Learning takes place in a relaxed environment. Since each youngster learns at his or her own pace, it's important to be patient and make the experience a fun time together. If a child experiences any difficulty, it is best to 'tell the answer' and go on with the lesson. Parents should keep in mind that all children want to succeed. We should be accepting of the child's rate of progress and not expect too much, too soon!

Using the clock: 1st and 2nd graders use the Hour and Minute Hands. 3rd and 4th graders use the Hour, Minute and Second Hands.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent educational and fun activity for young children, February 25, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Learn Time (Plastic Comb)
This book was a gift for my niece, and she loved using it. She became the first child in her kindergarten class to know how to tell time using a clock face, and this book is definitely the reason why.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Study Aid, March 3, 2008

This review is from: Learn Time (Plastic Comb)
It was exactly what I expected. Promotes discussion with your kids about how time was kept back in the old days. First preview, for the little ones, of roman numerals. Overall a great study aid for kids that are learning to tell time. I also recommend that parents buy their kids an analog watch to help them practice their time telling skills.

The item was very used and dirty looking. The book itself is a good item to help children learn to tell time.
