5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book
I am just learning Tunisian Crochet and I found this book to be a valuable resource. The description of stitches and general instructions in the book are very clear. The photo step-by-step descriptions are very clear. I can't wait to make the swirls baby afghan for my new granddaughter. I love all of the patterns and can see that I am going to be wearing a lot of shawls...

3.0 out of 5 stars Book is nice, DVD is semi good
This is a small project book with 10 items to crochet. The book is clear and easy to follow. The DVD has hesitation glitches and also some focus issues that are distracting. The envelope that contains the DVD is near the middle of the book, making browing through the book difficult...it would have been nice if there would have been a DVD pocket on the front or read page...

3.0 out of 5 stars Book is nice, DVD is semi good, March 25, 2010
This review is from: Learn to Do Tunisian Lace Stitches (Book & DVD) (Annie's Attic: Crochet) (Paperback)
This is a small project book with 10 items to crochet. The book is clear and easy to follow. The DVD has hesitation glitches and also some focus issues that are distracting. The envelope that contains the DVD is near the middle of the book, making browing through the book difficult...it would have been nice if there would have been a DVD pocket on the front or read page. All the items are made of light worsted or worsted weight yarn...many items would have been prettier made in a lighter weight yarn, giving a more lacy effect. I highly recommend a tunisian crochet hook with a flexible cord in place of the more old fashioned straight, solid hook.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book, September 18, 2010

I am just learning Tunisian Crochet and I found this book to be a valuable resource. The description of stitches and general instructions in the book are very clear. The photo step-by-step descriptions are very clear. I can't wait to make the swirls baby afghan for my new granddaughter. I love all of the patterns and can see that I am going to be wearing a lot of shawls in the near future.

I'm also thinking of making scarfs from some of the stitch patterns. An easy way to learn the stitches and make Christmas presents.

I'm in love with the DVD. It makes everything so much clearer. Reading is great, but moving pictures of any technique are wonderful. I found the video to be very professional and filmed in a manner that allows the viewer to get a clear picture of each of the stitches and stitch patterns. The videos are precise and slow enough for the viewer to see exactly how the stitch is made.

As an aside, I'm in love with the photography in this book. I find it to be tasteful, opulent and gorgeous. It makes the book a pleasure to view and read.

Extremely well written and explained, very good illustrations and the video is well produced and easy to follow even for a novice Tunisian crocheter.

Kim Guzman's book is fabulous. Even as a fairly new crocheter I can follow this book and love the instructional photos. The DVD is so great and I know I will watch it a million times.
I highly advise you all to buy this book so that you can have it on hand whenever you are going to work a project.
Beautiful patterns.

I will highly recommend this book. There is nothing to waste. The first half of the book is a course in Tunisian crochet and the other half is about the projects. The DVD is a wonderful tool which will help the people that need a visual tool. All projects are beautiful and fashionable. Also, I will like to advise new buyers to be aware that all projects are intermediate level, meaning that this book is not for crochet beginners. I would also like to add that Kim Guzman, the author has created stunning pieces to please all crowds.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good book to learn this fun crochet technique, February 27, 2011

This book has good information on the different kinds of stitches and the CD that comes with it is really good taking you step by step through the stitches and then through the patterns in the book. I am not any expert on crochet in general but I really enjoy tunisian crochet after taking one class on the simple stitches and being able to make a small purse quickly and this book will enable me to make more difficult projects.

This book and DVD are wonderful resources for getting started in Tunisian crochet. Especially since there are not a lot of materials out there yet this lost form of needlework. I loved having the DVD with it as your own personal tutorial.

4.0 out of 5 stars Incorrect Amazon Info!, May 25, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Learn to Do Tunisian Lace Stitches (Book & DVD) (Annie's Attic: Crochet) (Paperback)
I'm not unhappy with this book - but the title listed on Amazon is incorrect. I purchased it and the title is Learn to do Tunisian Lace Stitches. Well, I didn't want lace stitch instruction. At least, not for my first Tunisian book. Still, the book seems well-organized, the photography is good. It will be some time before I try to do anything from the book, so cannot comment on the instruction or the video.
