Edgar Whitney comes alive in this book.,

I was born too late to meet and learn from Edgar Whitney. This book gives me opportunity to see him, hear him and learn from him through his disciples. And also I love looking at those gorgeous paintings in this book. It's worth my money very much.

Edgar Whitney's students included Frank Webb, Tony van Hasselt, Tony couch and Betty Lou Schlemm, Skip Lawrence, and Judi Wagner. This book is all about the great teachings of Edgar Whitney and the influence he had on his students and what they can offer to you from what Whitney taught them. Each chapter is a focus on a particular watercolorist who studied under Edgar Whitney. It not only presents that artists works and approaches to the paintings, but it also offers many memories of Edgar Whitney's classes--many quite thought provoking. This book seems to be a projection of Edgar Whitney's influence on his students, and what they have carried with them through their famed teacher's influence. It offers a lot of philosophical approaches to watercolor not found in other books, along with a lot of humorous remarks remembered from Edgar Whitney. This book is a goldmine of information for becoming a better watercolorist. It is a one-of-a-kind. Great book. Fabulous artwork by many talented artists and students of Whitney. There is also an fascinating biographical chapter on Edgar Whitney. Every watercolorist should have this book.
