Not a country album,

Terrific album from Larry Stewart, however, not what I expected. This sounds nothing like his previous solo work or old Restless Heart music. It's interesting to hear a familiar voice sing a new style of music.

He's singing again!,

It's great to hear Larry again and see him continue with his solo career. I have been a long time fan of his, since his Restless Heart days, and was saddened when they disbanded for a second time. I think this is a great addition to anyones CD collection with it's blend of up tempo and slow ballads. This is a CD not only for the country music fan, but the pop music, or adult contempory fan as well.

I was very surprised as I listened to this CD because it was so different from anything Mr. Stewart had done before. The CD has a nice mix of romantic ballads and light rockers. It really shows his true vocal ability more than anything he's recorded in the past. I hope this is the first of many albums like this to come from him.

Definitely A Great Performance,

Larry Stewart has shed his "Restless Heart" country voice (which was awesome to begin with) and scored with an easy listening/adult contemporary session. Impeccably produced and performed, this set should definitely enclose him in the best of today's AC singers. Highlights of this collection are "Learning to Breathe Again," "Still in Love With Me," his remake of "Summer in the City" and the great mid-tempo "Fantasy". Fans of Restless Heart will probably ignore this departure, but if you are new to Mr. Stewart, give him a listen. If you like Gary Morris, John Farnham, or John Berry, Larry is right up there with them!

There isn't a bad song on the entire CD. The diversity of this album is incredible. You'll hear Larry Stewart as you've never heard him. Sounding better than he's ever sounded. "Compared to Goodbye" is the best duet I've heard in years.

The only reason I'm giving this album 4 stars at the time of this review is only because I haven't fully listened to the whole thing yet. I did listen to Summer In The City all the way through and I absolutely love that song. I know that song is going to be one of my favorite summer tunes to listen forever now that I have this album. The sounds on this cd are a mix of country and pop and I never thought I would hear Larry Stewart sing this way or imagined it but I'm pretty sure this is going to be one of my all time favorite albums. I am currently on a mission to collect all of Larry's cd's and those of Restless Heart. I have a few but not the whole collection yet. I have always loved Larry's voice and talent. I am so happy to have this album in my collection.

A Very Good Departure for the Restless Heart Frontman,

I've liked Larry's voice since I heard him with Resltess Heart, particularly on "I'll Still Be Loving You." I knew then that Mr. Stewart should not be restricted to doing just country music. With "Learning to Breathe," Larry emerges as a pop vocalist to be reckoned with. Utilizing a stellar cast of musicians and background singers, he takes the 12 song set (11 of them his own originals) and transforms them into some really nice music. His "Fantasy" and "Still in Love" are great performances; also "Reason to Believe" and "Learning to Breathe" again. Another highlight is his modernizing of the Lovin' Spoonful's classic "Summer in the City," replete with an intro by Grieg. All in all, a surprisingly good and listenable album. It should please Larry's old fans and get him some news one as well---if Windham Hill markets it right!

All of Larry's albums are great but this one is the greatest. It shows what a truely talented man he is not only as a singer with a great voice but also shows his great talent as a song writer. I highly reccomend this album to any Larry Stewart or Restless Heart fan. Even if your not a fan of Larry's you soon will be.
