Ride The Train Rug

I was looking for a rug that could accommodate, trains, cars and boats and this was it. It has vivid colors and is well made. Only thing I would like to add is the size, the seller didn't put that in the description and I would have liked to know it before I purchased it, but the size was what I was hoping for. 36"x80"

I saw how excited my 3 year old son got over one of these rugs at a gym daycare facility. We already have the Thomas the Tank table, with a mess of tracks and parts all over, and the Step 2 Canyon Roadway. This carpet is the BEST. My son loves it more than any of the other tracks he has, and it is so easy to deal with. I used to put together Thomas tracks for my son, but chasing a younger 18 month old tot around, I can't keep up any more, so the train table is a mess. The Step 2 Canyon is nice, but it's now our coffee table and we have no where else to put it (was intended for outside but stickers prevent that). The Ride the Train Carpet covers both Matchbox sized cars (in 2-lane traffic) and railway lines too. If want, can roll up small and put in closet. Wish it came with a nylon draw-string bag to put away easily, but don't think we'll be putting up anytime soon. Don't know about durability yet, as haven't had long enough, but lays nice and flat on top of berber carpet.

This rug is nice because of the rectangular shape, allowing more children to play. The other reason we like it is there are plenty of roads and railroad tracks. Most town rugs we looked at had either a railroad or roads, not both. This rug should last a long time.

My son, 2.5 years old, absolutely LOVES this rug! I was very impressed by its quality and durability. It's a perfect addition to his Thomas the Train room.

The play rug that we ordered is just what I wanted for my grandson. It looks better than the picture. It is a perfect size for him to "play" around with all of his cars, train and trucks. More than one child can play easily at a time. Best thing - I ordered late and it came before Christmas with standard shipping!

The rug is great, we have already spent a lot of time playing on it. We have even built wooden train tracks on top of the rugs tracks, so our son can use his "Thomas" trains. Lots of possibilities ... we have raced cars over it, pretended there was a construction site on it, used it like miniature town, etc. Also, it rolls up nicely to fit under couch.

This poor rug has taken such a beating. Between my potty training kid and the puppy it's been washed a handful of times. Don't do that unless it is absolutely necessary though because it kind of hurts the shape of the rug and the rubber backing starts to come off in big pieces. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat though because it's large without being obnoxious and it's got both roads and train tracks. My little one loves it!

This rug is huge! It is in my 2-year-old son's room. We have laminate floors, so it nice for an area to play on. I got this for my boys for Christmas 2009. I think it was a pretty good buy. I wouldn't have spent a fortune on a rug, but I wanted something that would work for our little Thomas take-along trains.

We bought this when we moved my son out of the nursery and into his "big boy" room. He absolutely loves it! It was very hard to find a play mat with both train tracks and roads. The colors are great. My only (slight) complaint is that I wish it was a little wider. But other than that, it was a great purchase.

This is the third ground cover that I have tried for my sons play area and my favorite by far.

The first was a comforter, and that was really annoying as you can imagine with all the bunching and unevenness (he is just a year old so i had to think quickly when he started actually wanting to play with toys and i set up a little space in our tiny one bedroom apartment) I knew I had to change that so I went to my second option

the second was those foam pieces that puzzle piece lock into each other. I loved these and it was so pretty I was stoked. but here is what happened. My son would pull them apart and chew on them. It could be a coincidence but a day later we took him to the doctor for an allergic reaction by an unknown factor (not food related) and had to have him get two breathing treatments, steroids, benedryll, and an epi pen (adrenaline). it was scary. whether it was the foam or not we chucked the foam.

I had to get something for him so I went this route.
selling points for me was that it is hypoallergenic. (LOL)
It is so much fun and although right now he doesnt care about the fact it has little roads I cant wait for him to figure it out and start playing with it.
it is very thin as well and you can open doors over it which is sooo nice. it lays perfectly flat and has a great rubber gripper on the bottom.
It is perfect.. wish it were bigger so it covered more ground thats how much I like it!

I say invest the money! It is a great rug and I am very pleased
