The activities and graphics are adorable in this Seuss program aimed at one- to three-year-old toddlers, but the CD requires more listening than is appropriate for this age group. Seven colorful activities are hosted by The Cat in the Hat and teach numbers, letters, shapes, colors, matching and mouse control. Children can learn their ABCs with Fox in Socks, make music with the Seussville Band and play a shape matching game with the Little Cats in Hats. No mouse clicks are expected- kids can just move the mouse and something happens onscreen. A second CD features a printable "workbook" with coloring pages. Despite all its positives, we question the program's suitability for toddlers. Each activity has a lengthy Seussian-style poem introduction, which makes for a rich language experience but also has kids waiting and listening before they can play- a challenging task for this age group. Another developmentally questionable facet of the program is its goal-directedness. As kids play the activities, they are rewarded with stamps for hats that they can color and print out. While this is a manageable task for a three-year-old, younger children are better served with more open-ended, exploratory activities. Our conclusion? This is a great program for children from two and a half to three years of age, but not the best option for younger toddlers. The really little ones will have a more successful first computer experience with Sesame Street Baby and Me.

This game is great for teaching little ones basic mouse skills. The only problem is it kept freezing up. I ran this game on Windows XP machines and I even tried changing the compatibility mode to Windows 98 and it still kept freezing up.

My 2 year old finds this totally fun. He mastered the use of the mouse in less than 5 minutes in order to play his first game which was helping the goo goose give her goslings a bath. You don't need to know how to click with the mouse, just pass the arrow, hand, whatever - over the object and it picks up the gosling, makes a noise, etc. He loves ticking the sleeping Zuzz and letter sorting the ABC's with the Fox in Sox. I was relieved to find that he is more interested in rereading (and rereading) the Dr Seuss books since he's been playing with these games - I was worried how computer games might make books seem more boring for toddlers.

This is fun and effective learning tool. My 1 1/2 year old loves this. She already familiar with some of the "Suessville" characters from being read to. She find s this game entertaining and she's able to recognize some of the characters here from the books. I highly recommend this product.
