5.0 out of 5 stars Annie and Clarabel wins a grandson's heart!
This gift was a big hit for our grandson as he had been asking for these particular cars for months. Apparently, they had not been manufactured for a while.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice train but wrong set
Don't confuse the "Take Along Thomas" with the "Wooden Railway" set as I did. "Take Along" is medal with a narrower guage track than the "Wooden Railway" set.

Made of steel, they are able to take abuse from a toddler yet still are easy to maneuver. We expect they'll become heirlooms, along with other Thomas the Train cars. These kinds of toys help develop fine motor skills, encourage imaginary play, and hold up exceedingly well.

My three year old has two Thomas engines and no coaches. He REALLY wanted Annie & Clarabel. Now Thomas has the right coaches to pull. He's a happy boy. :)

Annie and Clarabel appear in many if not most stories and videos. They "belong" to Thomas so to speak and should be part of the core group of any Thomas collection.

3.0 out of 5 stars Don't fit on the wooden Thomas tracks, April 11, 2010

I didn't realize these are a different type of Thomas Train. Apparently, the "take along" trains are smaller, with a narrower wheel base than the traditional wooden Thomas set, and won't fit into the grooves on the wooden Thomas Tracks. They have their own "take along Thomas" tracks. So, I was disappointed when we got them, since we already have a ton of wooden track, and I'm trying to avoid having three different sets of trains and tracks. But if it is the take-along Thomas set you are looking for, then go for it. These two are very economical and durable.

My son has been wanting Annie and Clarabel for a while, and i couldn't find it in any of our local stores. Found it here on amazon and i think it was very affordable. Not to mention it was shipped so quickly and we received it fast as well. They're soo sturdy and my son absolutely loved it.

We've had these cars a little over a year now and my son plays with them daily.... they are used and abused as much as any 4 year old can! He mainly has the thomas take along series because of the pricing and the construction - they can survive much longer than the wooden cars!

These are very durable toys. They are very well made. My child has done everything there can be to these and they still hold up. Its a shame that the are going to retired all Thomas take along toys next year. Best toy for the money. Great for resale also when your kids have outgrown them.
