I got Buddy and Tiny for my almost 2 year old, and she LOVES them! I have found that they are very durable, and as with any electronic toy, it only has a limited number of phrases. With that being said, I have noticed that if you have both of them on at the same time, then yes, the phrases tend to repeat. Turn one off, and the other will have a TON of phrases! I can't wait to get her the rest of the "crew." If you haven't seen the show, it's GREAT! Very good vocabulary, intelligent conversations that are not "watered down" and great life lessons.

My eldest son is 3 1/2 years old and totally loves this toy. He is a huge dinosaur fan and can name so many species that people actually believe he is reading the names from the pictures and will try to cover the names. I have to remind them that he's only 3 years old and doesn't know how to read yet...it very funny to see. He received this toy a few days ago and has been carrying him around everywhere. They are inseparable. It is a wonderful toy. It's very pleasing to look at, brightly colored and non-threatening. It is hard plastic with no sharp or pointy edges with a very durable and sturdy feel. This is a well designed toy.

I highly recommended this toy for fans of the show and dinosaur lovers in general.

These Dinosaur Train toys are very cute. Someone bought Buddy for my son's first birthday and he love the colors and the sounds. For about a month, he laughed every time Buddy "bit" him and made a biting sound.

I was suprised by how many different sounds these toys make, from biting to stomping to singing and saying a variety of phrases, there's a lot going on here. The phrases (for Buddy at least) range from things that actual dinosaurs were probably thinking ("mmm . . . meat" and "I smell meat") to vaguely educational ("I'll weigh [x] tons some day") to the confounding ("I have a hypothesis" - what, dammit, Buddy is your hypothesis? He never says; he just sits their with his jurassic-mona-lisa smile, forever withholding his reptilian hypothesis).

The real fun comes when you buy several (those crafty toymakers) - they really talk to each other.
