I've just gone through the first couple of tunes, but he does a good job of explaining the full tune - points out the difficult passages and give hope to the mere mortal. I also appreciate his humorous remarks such as when encouraging you to learn a particularly tough spot with the advice "Play this over and over again until someone throws something at you". Great resource for learning the fiddle tunes. I haven't yet gotten to the part where he teaches the speed stuff. But learning tunes like these and playing them over and over with the correct technique is a great way to build your speed.

I had already purchased and went through the Learning to Flatpick DVD's 1 & 2, and this was the perfect next step in the series. Like all of Steve Kaufman's series, it starts out building fundamentals that layer one on top of each other so that by the time your done you are at the next step.
