4.0 out of 5 stars Very cute
This pig e bank is very cute! My kids like putting the money in & even re-counting it over & over. It did get a little annoying when we first got it as my daughter had A LOT of change to put in, but that was only initially. She really likes seeing her total amount increase!

1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS BANK!
As an educational toy, this product is a failure. It does NOT consistently recognize the coins correctly. About 75% of the time it was wrong. Not a good way to teach kids! Also, the bank we received stuttered constantly like a record skipping and would not shut off. Bad product all around!

This piggy bank is nice and durable. However, my 3yr old finds it a bit difficult to use and therefore doesn't care about it much. It's tough for him to put the coins into the bank as you really have to push them in with some force so the bank will recognize the coins and record them correctly. He also finds the button fun to play with so there's no correct keeping of the dollar about in the piggy bank.

As he gets older, it will probably be easier for him to use. For now, he doesn't care much about it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Makes learning about money fun!, January 24, 2008

My son had seen this item in a toy catalog and really wanted it from Santa for Christmas. He already has a piggy bank but all he talked about was getting this piggy bank from Santa so I sort of had to. He really likes it and I do too. It is pretty well constructed but could be better. It works like it is supposed to for the most part. The only thing I don't like is that it sometimes doesn't recognize a coin properly. For example, I might put a dime in and it recognizes it as a penny. Same with quarters and nickels. Other than that, it's a worthwhile toy. It is helpling my sons (my 5 year old likes to put coins in too)recognize coins and their values.

1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work as advertised, February 8, 2010

This bank constantly repeats "FEED ME, FEED ME" at the lightest touch in an annoying and loud voice. Sometimes it gets caught in a stutter and you have to remove the batteries (using a screwdriver) to get it to stop. It rarely recognizes the coins correctly. Most of the time a penny reads as a quarter. Quarters often read as dimes or pennies. IT'S WORTHLESS IF YOU WANT YOUR CHILD TO LEARN TO RECOGNIZE AND COUNT CHANGE! I thought the first one was defective, until I returned it and the second one was just as bad. Overall the product is made out of cheap brittle plastic that if given a chance would likely break within a week under normal use.

In short. It's annoying, it doesn't work, it's cheaply made and will just end up taking space in a landfill. DO NOT BUY!

My six-year-old is very frustrated with this bank. The pig frequently miscounts coins. It suddenly resets to $0.00 without warning and you have to start all over again. Don't waste your money on this pig!

I got this "Toy" for a friend of mine who always seemed to have an enormous amount of change Floating about her house, I was thrilled with the shinny chrome plastic piggy and was sure she would love that it keeps a running total for her. DRAWBACK- every time you put money in it "talks" announcing what the change is called and then the total "Nickel, 5 cents" then keeps talking asking to be feed for a few minutes---- and there is no way to turn that talking part off, I guess a kid might like to be encouraged to go and raid the house to feed its hungry chrome piggy but for an adult its just a bit ANNOYING. My Friend says its not that bad and you get use to it asking for money, she is just thrilled that her husband has taken to depositing all his change there everyday with a goal of a vacation.
