5.0 out of 5 stars Learning Journey Desktop PC
My son enjoys the Learning Journey Desktop PC. It is small and fits in his room and has many interesting games on it. The graphics aren't as good as a real computer, but this toy lets him feel that he has a computer of his own. He can even pretend to send email. This toy runs on batteries and cannot take an adapter.

3.0 out of 5 stars Christmas gift
After much research, this was the gift for us. My four & half year old especially wanted it because it was his favorite color(red) and it looked like our desktop. However, when it arrived it was silver not red as shown on the website. I agree with some reviews that the screen really should have a backlight, it's almost impossible to see what's on the screen. I hope my son...

My husband and I looked at all the so called toddler "computers" on the market. Those things with the 2x2 screen and not much else? We decided to save our money. Then going through a Costco in JAPAN of all places, we ran across this item. IT'S FABULOUS (and yes it was in English though we were in Japan)! It has 30 "games" that cover all areas of reading, writing, comprehension, math, and even mock "email" so they understand the workings of a real PC. My oldest son--he was 2 1/2 when we bought it--figured out pretty fast which codes were associated with his favorite games. He also figured out the Help button would give the right answer if he didn't know. :) Now every time he sees the letter A he says, "A. Airplane!", because that's the word association the computer makes. We ordered our second one from Amazon because our younger boy was always wanting to play with it too. We may have to get a third when our daughter hits toddlerhood! I was disappointed that Amazon didn't offer free shipping with this item. But it's still worth getting. LOVE IT!!

Although my son is only 2 I believe this toy will grow with him for a few more years. It teaches numbers and letters and elementary spelling and even has some fun features like e-mail (pretend). The fact that it has a QWERTY keyboard and mouse is what my son loves the most because it looks like Mommy and Daddy's computer. I'd definitely recommend this.

Love the computer, a little too advanced for my 5yr old but he is learning fast. I would recommend.

Very simple and easy to use. Seems quite durable as my 4 yr old son often drags it from room to room. A great toy to play with as a family if you have children under 5.

I researched alot of little computers, and this one is by far the best. It looks the most like a real computer, and isn't affiliated with a licensed character. My son likes the pretend e-mail feature the best. However, he does get a little bored with the games, they need more variety, but I guess you can't expect it for the price. I wish they would make the screens on all of these bigger.

I hope my son is still interested in this toy down the road because some programs on this computer are far too advanced for him now (multiplication , synonyms, antonyms & punctuation). It's very cute and has some nice learning programs, but price wise I saw some offers for alot less money and I only wish those were in stock and available. I paid too much.

1.0 out of 5 stars so bad i went to the effort to share my experience, June 17, 2011

product didn't last long at all. i went back to the maker (learning journey) as well as the distributor (csn stores/toysandgamesonline.com) and both declined to do anything as it was no longer in production. thank god the intended receiver of this gift is now on to the real thing, but his younger brothers won't be able use this product, which is always a consideration, nor will i be able to make any claim (paypal) on the good money i've wasted. bad business leads to no business.
