Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

Our Learning Series books are ideal for corporate training, school courses, or individual use. Each book offers lessons and exercises that introduce and then build computer skills through step-by-step, illustrated directions.

A free CD-ROM is included with all newer Learning Series books. The CD houses the data files for the exercises. Each Internet title also includes simulated Web sites and hyperlinks used in the exercises, a multimedia tutorial on Internet browsing, and a copy of an Internet browser.

Our authors are certified teachers, so readers dont drown in unwanted narration or too much high-tech lingo. Small words and fewer of them; short sentences and fewer of them. By the end of the book you'll achieve total software proficiency in record time.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best guide to Windows 98 ever written, October 17, 1999

If you only have to buy one book to learn how to fully use Windows 98, this is the only book you need. I can take a total computer novice give him this book and within a week that person will know more about operating their computer then someone who spent years at a keyboard.

The reason is quite simple, you don't have to really learn anything. Just pick a topic, say Windows Explorer. Turn to the Lesson on using Windows Explorer and follow the exact steps Ms. Brown describes and it's done. 99% of all people who use Windows 98 operating system never use more than a fraction of it's potential because they won't take the time to learn. Fine don't learn here is your guide.

However if you want to learn to use the software, Learning Windows 98 will teach you how to use it. The best book on Windows we hve ever seen and we've seen many.

4.0 out of 5 stars Learning MS Win98, October 24, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I brought this for my aunt and she so far has not used it. She is afraid of the computer still. From what I saw and the little bit I read it seems to get the point across in a fashion that can be understood by most folks.
