This review is from: Learning in Motion: 101+ Sensory Activities for the Classroom (Paperback)
This book offers experienced and new therapists, teachers and parents a great activity book for young children that can adjust to meet their different skill in the same task. All of the activities presented are easy to incorporate into a therapy session or lesson plan because they have clearly stated goals and objectives. The book is written with multiple activities that fit in the typical month themes used by many schools and community groups. The materials needed for these activities are clearly listed and easy to obtain. The method of presentation of the activities incorporates active movement and group cooperation which is a vital skill for young children to learn. Each activity comes with a parent communication letter which explains the activity, how it will help the child's development and what the caregivers can do at home to reinforce these skills. The book also includes a recipe section for creating sensory exploration activities. A fun book, timer saver for the busy teacher or therapist that offers great activities.

Learning in Motion has been such as asset to me in my work. I am an occupational therapist in the school system. The book is so organized and easy to use. It gives activities for each month, a break down of the skills that activity works on, and even a note to write home. It has been so well received in the schools where I work that some of the teachers have gotten their own copy to help them work on sensory processing and fine motor skills in the classroom. Activities are easy to grade up or down depending on the kind of students you have and it truly has been my go-to book when lesson planning. Truly a great find!!!

I was hoping for a book full of great ideas but this book is rather basic. I am a new teacher and much of what is in this book is rather common. A very small handful of great activities.
