4.0 out of 5 stars A good start for beginners., August 19, 2001
This review is from: Learning to Paint in Watercolor (Barron's Art Guides) (Paperback)
Written in an easy-to-read manner, this book provides a good start for watercolor beginners. The book covers basic grounds in water color painting, from materials (paints, paper, brushes, easels) to techniques (how to use a brush, brushstrokes, stretching paper, etc...). Demonstrations of painting in one, two, three colors, highlights, along with techniques to render light, shadow, skies, water, vegetation, and flesh tones are also covered.

This book suits beginners who look for a rather suffice but not in-depth coverage of some of the basic aspects in watercolor paintings. Intermediate and advanced watercolorists certainly can live without it.
