5.0 out of 5 stars Thumbs up from a rads resident, October 19, 2008
As a current radiology resident in Virginia, I have checked out this book at the bookstore and its way better than the book we have traditionally been teaching our med students from (Squire).

This is the same author as the website Learningradiology.com which has alot of this material online for free. We basically teach our medstudents off of Learningradiology.com. So if anyone was wondering what they should be reading for a rads elective- its this book, or at least the website.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Text, May 26, 2007
This is a great new book, richly illustrated and ideal for medical students in their 3rd and 4th years, rad tech students, physician assistants, radiologist assistants, and trainees -- especially in Emergency Medicine, Surgery and Internal Medicine -- who will be called on to interpret everyday bread-and-butter examinations.

It stresses the important fundamentals in a bulleted, easy-to-read format that is less onerous than some other fundamental texts but substantial enough to allow one to make the diagnoses that non-radiologists are called on to make. In addition, the on-line material available for access with this text has dozens of really great interactive, image-based quizzes that are keyed to the book.

I would highly recommend this book to all students, interns, residents and health care professionals who need to learn the fundamentals of radiology.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book for the basics, April 30, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
My medical school recommended "Essentials of Radiology." I ended up with that one and this book. This book is by far superior with regard to teaching the principles and content. It is NOT dense (compared to Essentials) and it has most of what you need to know for an intro course to radiology. I think maybe in a few years Essentials may be more helpful, but for a non overwhelming intro, this book is better.
