Learning Reflexology: A good approach., February 8, 2001
This review is from: Learning Reflexology [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Though I haven't viewed many video's of this sort, I have to say that this one isn't bad. Meril Sunde is a clear presenter of this exciting art. Hesr brittish accent doesn't detract or distract, which makes this video easy viewing. The camera work is clear with adequet lighting, and the view of her hands working is perfect, except in one brief instance, but this does no harm to this production.
This video is a great teaching tool, but I must detract one star for the poor animation during the initial discussion of the reflex points on the feet (only one of which is shown). It portrays them as pea-sized points, instead of more general areas, except in a couple instances. Also, you can't tell if the points are on the upper surface of the feet, or on the bottom, untill each section moves into Ms. Sunde's demonstration of working said points. This may seem picky, but good, bright and colorful animation is very important to me. I would have opted for more colorful animation, but at least Ms. Sunde's demonstrations are accurate, clear and concise, and so I can forgive this lack of creativity in production.
I must applaud Ms. Sunde's discussion, in two instances, of one not diagnosing an illness, or condition; and her instruction that reflexology deals with the flow of energy, energy blockages, and the energy body; differentiating from the physical body, which keeps one clear of "questionable" ground. In my opinion, any legitimate instructor would make this a key issue, as a practitioner of reflexology could be "shut down," if not careful. This alone deserves four stars!!!!
All in all, I appreciate this video. In spite of it's plain nature, it is very good instruction and worth the money spent on it.
