Most people have no idea how small a brain really is and what it can actually do! R. M. Ostenson  |  2 reviewers made a similar statement
This is a great brain for teaching. D. Dixon  |  2 reviewers made a similar statement
Also disappointing was that the two halves don't stay together unless you hold them. JMac  |  2 reviewers made a similar statement

2.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing April 7, 2010

Durability: 3.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 2.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
I am a therapist and frequently talk with clients about how the brain works on a very basic level, particularly thinking and feeling. I wanted a simple, non-overwhelming model to be able to show clients during this explanation. I was so excited for my brain to arrive but was extremely disappointed with the actual thing. Most disappointing was that it didn't have the amygdala or hippocampus listed among the parts. Also disappointing was that the two halves don't stay together unless you hold them. The outside is gray rather than the bright yellow shown in the image, and it's made of material reminiscent of a dog-toy. I believe this would be good for children which is why there are so many positive comments about it, but if you want it for anything other than that, keep looking. As one other reviewer said (which I should have heeded and didn't), "it's neither a toy nor an educational tool". I certainly expected to get a lot more for the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars If I only had a brain....... December 19, 2007

Durability: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Nice brain in attractive packaging. Very easy to hold.

It is made out of soft foam - so if you have a dog(or small child)that likes to eat brains, you might want to keep it out of reach.

It does not snap together, so it really does not display well. But it is a great model.

I bought this on a whim, I hope one of my 3 daughters, (age 2,4,6) will be inspired to be a brain surgeon and I can retire. Not a bads wish for a $14 investment.

4.0 out of 5 stars Soft brain June 22, 2008
Durability: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 3.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
This brain does not show the central lobes of the brain. Not sure why. It is adequate but if you need something more acurate, try something else. This is fine for young children or if it needs to be handled by a lot of people.

3.0 out of 5 stars fairly ordinary
it has become a dog toy. The model was just too simplistic. More detail required. wouldn't recommend it. Not sure who it would be useful for

This item is not at all as pictured. It's gray and completely useless for children or any other purpose. Not fun, not educational, and useless. Returning promptly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cross Section Human Brain Model
The brain is good just for children. It is a good toy, not more. I am not very impressed with it; however my children are.

Nice brain model, I use it mainly as an adult educational piece so is more than a toy is a way to understand our powerful brains.
