Update 11/9/15 - 3 years later... My son is 5 1/2 now and we love playing the actual game portions of the Cookie Shapes Games.

My 2.5 year old could play with these for hours! For a toddler... that's a bold and amazing statement! The possibilities of play are endless. They look like realistic cookies! So they've been cooked, baked, frozen, passed out on plates, used for it's intended purposes with the learning cards (as far as matching)! It's the absolute most fun way for your child to learn their shapes!

My son recognized and said "rectangle" the other day and I just about died! I don't know why it was so stinkin cute... maybe because I didn't know he was really taking it all in and learning so much while we were just sitting there having fun. What more could a parent want? This product is a must for the playroom! The quality is amazing, the price is GREAT and the possibilities are endless.

It's so fun for group play, role play and ideal for educational play, recognizing shapes and making patterns!

We bought this toy for our son to work on matching, shapes and taking turns. We work with our son to have him match the shapes to the cards. He enjoys playing with the cookies even without us playing with him. It is hard to find games for young children and this is something you can start with. The shapes are safe and durable.

I can not believe how realistic the cookies look! I bought this primarily for the play cookies for my niece who I also gave a play tea set. I really wanted to include cookies for her to have with her tea but had a hard time finding just play cookies. She is a little young for the games yet but Her mom and I liked that it was something to look forward to later. I saw some people complained about how big the jar is vs how little the cookies fill it. The jar itself was not as big as I was expecting and the cookies filled it up well enough for me.

I got this set for my nieces who are three and four. I wanted something that could double as fun and educational and this item does just that. You match the cookies to faces and designs illustrated on the cards. They have different levels to please different age groups and they both found it challenging enough to continue playing with it without getting frustrated or bored. The cookies are very durable and realistic looking, I would honestly buy it just to use as play food or just for the educational purpose because either way it is very worth it. You won't be disappointed!

My grandson has this toy and it is a great one...LOT'S of options for how to use it from basic identifying shapes to solving simple Math problems. Comes with options (a spinner and cards) to use it as a game! The ONLY downside I can find is that the cookie jar itself has a cover that does not fasten on in any secure way...it just sits on top...tough if you have toddlers/pre-schoolers carrying it.

Rating this toy is difficult, as I have to weigh the fun and educational value with what I feel is a morally deceptive practice.

Fun/educational value: 4.5
Morality/deceptive: 0

THE GOOD
Cookies are a nice, soft rubber material which is a nice change from all of the hard plastic toys for youngsters. They feel nice to hold and play with and are visually pleasing.
There are 6 types of cookies, with 5 of each design. Great for sorting, finding a match, etc.

THE BAD
Marketing photos display this nice big jar of cookies. The cookie jar arrives, and it appears to be this sizable jar of cookies to play with. THEN, you open the jar, and you find that more than half of the jar has been filled up with some filler. In reality, the cookies only take up about 1/4 of the size of the cookie jar. They look absolutely pitiful sitting in the bottom of this nice-sized jar, once the filler is taken out. Now, I realize that sometimes filler is added so that more rigid and/or fragile pieces don't break. This is absolutely not the case with this toy. As stated before, the cookies are rubber. They won't break when bouncing around into each other during shipping. This practice of deception leaves one instantly feeling "taken." I don't like it, in principle.

Interesting Note: I purchased another toy at the same time, not realizing it was from the same company. SAME THING. You think you are getting a nice big container or toys. Alas, 3/4 of the container is filler. When that is removed, there is a sorry little collection of pieces lying at the bottom of your container.

Just slimy and crummy, as far as I am concerned.

I would NOT buy anything else from this company, because you wouldn't know what you are getting until you actually open the container. Plus, I just don't want my money going to support a shady company that blatantly tries to deceive it's customers. Just one more scummy corporate practice.

Great set, but the cards need to be bigger. My toddler thinks the cookies go on top of the cards in the patterns that the cards show, but they don't fit.

Great product! The children use them for "cooking and serving" to friends. They are also great for group activities and individual learning.
