My 2.5 year old could play with these for hours! For a toddler... that's a bold and amazing statement! The possibilities of play are endless. They look like realistic cookies! So they've been cooked, baked, frozen, passed out on plates, used for it's intended purposes with the learning cards (as far as matching)! It's the absolute most fun way for your child to learn their shapes!
My son recognized and said "rectangle" the other day and I just about died! I don't know why it was so stinkin cute... maybe because I didn't know he was really taking it all in and learning so much while we were just sitting there having fun. What more could a parent want? This product is a must for the playroom! The quality is amazing, the price is GREAT and the possibilities are endless.
It's so fun for group play, role play and ideal for educational play, recognizing shapes and making patterns!
Fun/educational value: 4.5
Cookies are a nice, soft rubber material which is a nice change from all of the hard plastic toys for youngsters. They feel nice to hold and play with and are visually pleasing.
There are 6 types of cookies, with 5 of each design. Great for sorting, finding a match, etc.
Marketing photos display this nice big jar of cookies. The cookie jar arrives, and it appears to be this sizable jar of cookies to play with. THEN, you open the jar, and you find that more than half of the jar has been filled up with some filler. In reality, the cookies only take up about 1/4 of the size of the cookie jar. They look absolutely pitiful sitting in the bottom of this nice-sized jar, once the filler is taken out. Now, I realize that sometimes filler is added so that more rigid and/or fragile pieces don't break. This is absolutely not the case with this toy. As stated before, the cookies are rubber. They won't break when bouncing around into each other during shipping. This practice of deception leaves one instantly feeling "taken." I don't like it, in principle.
Interesting Note: I purchased another toy at the same time, not realizing it was from the same company. SAME THING. You think you are getting a nice big container or toys. Alas, 3/4 of the container is filler. When that is removed, there is a sorry little collection of pieces lying at the bottom of your container.
Just slimy and crummy, as far as I am concerned.
I would NOT buy anything else from this company, because you wouldn't know what you are getting until you actually open the container. Plus, I just don't want my money going to support a shady company that blatantly tries to deceive it's customers. Just one more scummy corporate practice.
