Very nicely made.

This gets 4 stars because at first I was turned off by the neck seams and plastic smell when I first opened the box.

Great, great animal set! My 25 month old daughter is just NUTS about animals! Our 14 mo. old son likes them too- He's just learning animal names and these are a help.

1. Love that there is a good variety- horse, cow, sheep, goat, pig,

rooster, goose.

2. Animals are a nice size- perfect for little hands.

3. Even though they are a little big, our kids love to use them with the Little People Farm set.

4. Our kids like to play games with them- where is the rooster....? Or, because they are a good size we'll take something small, like a soup cracker or something and hide it under, on top of , beside, etc. an animal. Then ask, "where is the cracker? It's *under* the cow..."

The only con.... There is no wild animals set! We'd buy another set if they offered one.

I was expecting solid sturdy plastic animals but these are not them. My daughter received them for her second birthday off her amazon wishlist. Now what we have them I wish I had never put them on there. They are hollow plastic and all of the large animals have rings around their necks where two pieces were put together. The quality of the rings varies wildly. On the pig it is barely noticeable yet the head of the goat is attached very poorly. If this had not been a gift I would be returning it.

We bought this set because our boy likes farm animals.

Upon receiving them, we opened the box and it stinks from chemical off-gassing. The paint they use is cheap, and several brush 'touch-ups' have been done to it.

The paint does not seem safe, and I would never trust this product to be non-hazardous for my kid to put in his mouth. That is NOT going to be a possibility to worry about, because these are going straight to the trash. Be warned.

The chemical stink also stays on your hands after handling them. Disgusting.

Besides the scary chemical issues, this set is ugly. The molds are very low quality. The paint bleeds into the contrasting colours, and the animals don't stand up on their own.

To conclude, I would feel like an immoral person to donate this toy. It belongs in a land fill, and should never have been made.

Please don't buy them. I am contacting the Consumer Product Safety Commission about this product, as I believe it is unsafe.

OK, so they smell of plastic, and they are made in China. Should Learning Resource return the production of ALL of their materials to the USA? and then should we be willing to pay more? Yes. Having said that, I studied a great many farm animals before making this purchase. I wanted our grandson to use his imagination, have animals that were durable and fit in his hands so all the farms that make noises were out. Fisher Price, what have you done? Can you buy a silent barn these days? Are we trying to erase all imaginative play with so many toys now coming with their own soundtracks? So these animals are great. They only make the noise that you make. He'll make his own farmyard with blocks and lincoln logs.
Rip open the bag when they arrive and let them air out. Then wash in hot, sudsy water, and if they still smell, wash them again. I'm trying to buy American, so Learning Resources, help us out here. Should have given them a 4 star since they aren't made here, but then I found no farm animals that were.

My 9 month-old got these for Christmas and they are just perfect. She enjoys inspecting them and I talk about the names of the animals and the sounds they make. I know she will use them for a long time. The child I watch is almost 2 and he LOVES lining them up and making their sounds. They are fairly light, so when the kids whack each other with them it won't hurt much! The sizes are good and the paint is well done for the low price. I just hate when toy animals have human-like dopey expressions and these don't! The jungle set is just as nice (we got that, too).

Bought all 3 sets (jungle animals, domestic pets & farm animals) based on the raving reviews but only to be disappointed! Thank goodness though I bought them on sale, it's definitely not worth what they are charging for! Poorly crafted, the bigger animals (dog, gorilla, horse, cow) all appears to be "decapitated" - the sewn line right around the animal's necks; Mr. Giraffe occurs to have a severe hemorrhage - rather unpleasant!. Where the sewn line met, edges are jagged, bad paint job (lead based paint?) not that realistic as some reviews claimed.
My 18 month old son did have a blast with them (bravo for those jumbo sizes); however to an animal friendly/loving/savvy parent, it's rather disturbing to have to explain to the young child why the cat and the dog (catzilla & dogzilla?) are much bigger than the cow!
Paid almost 3 figures for all 3 sets (total of 15 animals). Look around - I found same quality, tag smaller animals for a fraction each at Walmart. Only set-back with those from Walmart are that there is only limited variety of animals. Ugh, we could have had a safari of 90 animals at that price!

I thought this toy was a bit expensive, but these are a nice size and nice quality. My baby daughter, 20 months, sets these up in a row and makes the animal sounds and entertains herself. It's a favorite toy in our house and worth the money in the end, I think they will last a long time.
