I'm not sure if it is the beautiful game board, or the fun of getting better at remembering the True-False facts, but my kids (4, 7, 9) love this game and have played it every day since they got it for Christmas. The rating is based on their (esp. the 4 & 7 year olds) enthusiastic reception rather than my own thoughts about the game.

Frankly I'm a bit surprised by their love for this solar system trivia game, although I guess according to classical education models I shouldn't be, since the kids are in the Grammar/Fact Acquisition stage of the Trivium. Anyway, we will probably have to make some of our own cards because the kids are quickly mastering all of the fact cards that were included.

The game does require reading.

The aim of the game is to collect the full set solar system cards by answering a True/False question about the planet each time you pass a planet or the sun. My four year old loved this as he could easily answer the simpler questions and learnt something new from the more difficult ones. He also liked the idea of hopping from planet to planet.

My son is a space fan after we read many books about the solar system and milky way for him before sleep. He loves those space things and asked many questions. Well, he is 3.5 years old, and he won't be able to follow the rule to play the board game. However, we use different way to play with him with just imaging and picking for where his spacecraft driving to and then Q&A. He loves it and try to answer all questions and learn new knowledge. The reason not being 5 stars for this board game because of few answers on the Q&A cards aren't 100% accurcy as we learned from professional solar system book.

Not only is this game easy to learn and educational, it is enjoyable for both kids and adults. My 6yr old is really into the planets/our solar system currently and has liked playing this game. It includes the facts behind each answer (T or F) including planet diameters, days it takes to orbit the sun, length of day, landmarks, etc. The only negative is that there are probably about 20 cards/planet and after playing multiple times you'd likely know all the answers, however, that means my son will be much more knowledgable on the planets.

This is a really simple game, but is visually appealing and fun. You have to travel across our solar system and answer True/False questions about planets to collect cards. Once you have a card for each planet and the Sun then you win. There are worm holes, black holes, etc. that make you go to different spaces or trade cards with another player etc.

My children are 6 and 9 and really enjoy this game. The True/False questions make it easy to put younger children on a more level playing field because their chances are 50/50 to get it right. My son does really well regardless though. Today we played this game again and had a great discussion about why Pluto takes 248 Earth years to go around the sun because its orbit around the sun is so much larger than the Earth's.

Speaking of Pluto, that part of the game has to be tweaked because Pluto is no longer considered a planet, so anything referring to Pluto as a planet needs to be modified, but it's easy to do. You could even omit Pluto totally from the game play and still play the game just fine.

Two thumbs up from me because it's a hit with both kids and now we are all much more familiar with the planets in our solar system. Mom even needed a brush-up on her facts :) Because there are a limited number of cards you could eventually get to the point where you've memorized all the answers, however I can't really see remembering all those facts about the planets as a bad thing!

I got this for my 12 year old son. He is really into the planets. It is very educational and even I like to play it. I would recommend this game!

Just played this with my 6-year-old, who thought he knew everything about the planets. Well he still knew a lot more than I did, but we both learned new interesting facts. The object of the game is to collect all the planets, the sun and Pluto and put them in order. After playing 5 or 6 times he may remember the answers but will still enjoy moving among the planets and switching and stealing planet cards from other players. If your child is interested in the solar system, he/she will find this game entertaining.
