5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, sturdy play cups and plates!
I bought these play dishes for my 3-year-old son and 1-year-old daughter. My daughter is not interested in them yet, but my son loves them. I'd say he plays with them the "right" way most of time. These are durable and can stand up to wear and tear. These are dishwasher safe (top rack). My son loves playing outside and we put these dishes in his playhouse outside...

2.0 out of 5 stars so small!
i bought these along with a play kitchen and play food but they are so small that they dont even fit the play fried egg! so much smaller than i thought they would be. ive just been giving her regular plastic plates that she eats off of instead. the largest plate is about the size of a regular saucer or even smaller. wasnt too happy with this.

These dishes have been mud covered, jumped on, ran over with a kids tractor, you get my drift, they're tough! Perfect size as well, for kids. Great for pretend play too, which is good for learning! Great value for the price!

I just ordered this wonderful set of dishes for my 18 month old son to use with his new kitchen set. I am absolutely 100% satisfied. I had been searching for dishes that I felt would be appropriate for both boys and girls. After only finding ones that were pastel colors, I was so happy to find these. The dishes are red, blue, yellow, and green. The quality of the product is excellent. My son loves these. I am so pleased with Learning Resources that I have just ordered the cookset and several play food items. Totally satisfied.

Overall, the dishes will be an excellent teaching tool for counting, colors, mix and match. We will include table manners. The plates are too small. Difficult to hold much play food on them.

This was just what it looked like. A non breakable dish set. Love the bright colors and cost. Well done.

5.0 out of 5 stars An enjoyable, colorful addition to my daughter's kitchen, January 18, 2009

My daughter enjoys putting food on the colorful, fun-shaped plates and making "fruit juice" to pour into the little cups--they are just the right size for her hands and they store nicely in her kitchen without taking up tons of space. The utensils are sturdy but not so tough that I'm afraid she'll hurt herself on them.

I purchased this product for my 2 year old daughter. I also purchased the Learning Resources/Pretend & Play Healthy Dinner set. Since both products are manufactured by the same company, I thought they would be compatible. However, the dinner plates were too small for the food. For example, the Pretend & Play spaghetti was too large for the plate. All other items (tea cups, saucers, forks, spoons, and knives) were an appropriate size. I just wish the Pretend & Play dinner plates could actually accommodate the Pretend & Play dinners. Despite that, my daughter loved both the dishes and the pretend food.

This set is even better than expected. With the different colors it is easy for a parent to keep track of anything missing when time to clean up. Child also can mix and match, practice colors and numbers without even knowing it. Plus it is just a lot of fun to play with. Great tea parties were had by all! Love it!
