5.0 out of 5 stars Great 1st fishing toy
Grandson loves this toy and it has held up very well to a tough 3 yr old. Did have problem making him understand he could't use it at the lake to catch real fish. Overall, wonderful toy, easy for 3 yr old to use, and he even plays with it in the bathtub.

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of money
Looked really cute online.... when it arrived, the tackle box was cracked and broken along the handle. The fishing rod itself was poorly made and the magnets hardly worked that help you catch a fish. The was a christmas present for a 3 year old.... I was embarrassed to give it to him.

We gave this to our three year old grandson for his birthday. He loves it- especially the vest. One great feature is that the magnets are internal- so there's little chance of them falling out and being ingested accidentally.

I bought this fishing set for my 2 year old son for Christmas, and he absolutely loves it! I have two other fishing sets that are no longer on the market, so I decided to give this one a try. One of my favorite features is the fishing rod - you pull the line out to "cast" it, and then it winds up directly into the plastic rod so the line never gets tangled. Brilliant!

My three-year old grandson loved this play set. First thing he wanted to do was put on the vest and "go fishing". He plays with it for hours at a time.

I bought this for my toddlers 3rd birthday. He loves it. Makes bath time a breeze because he can't wait to go fishing. The fish "find" the magnet fairly easily and hook on well. Only drawback is that he can't cast the line.

I bought this for my 3 yr. old grandaughter and she loves it. She played with this on Christmas morning more than any other toy. She enjoys "reeling in" the fish and wearing the vest. It is well made and has the tackle box to store everything in. It is fun for boys or girls.

I have a 3 year old and 1 year old, the 3 year old loves fishing, so i bought this for him, with the intentions of buying him a different fishing pole that is more lifelike and giving the fishing pole to his baby sister. It worked out perfectly!!!!!!!!!!! He needed a tackle box and LOVES it and also, the fishing vest is a cloth vest that he loves putting on! His little sister who is almost 2 loves the fishing pole that came with it, and since i bought him another pole, they both play well together. I am glad i bought this and didn't listen to reviews cause this purchase, for the little tackle box and vest was worth it. Would not pay over 20 dollars for it, though. Fishing pole is a sturdy one, so it's great for younger kids. Too baby for my almost 4 year old though. Great purchase, would recommend for other families who have kids close in age and swapping the fishing pole included here for the younger child and buying an additional one (search amazon, they have a great one for older kids)! I think I paid around 15 for this and it's worth it. Amazon has it now for like 27, would not pay that!

I was looking for anything for imaginative play for my grandson who will be 3 years old in 3 months. When he opened this at Christmas, he never stopped carrying around the fishing pole, net and fish. He would sit down and figure out how the pole worked, and had the best time with it. No one in our family fishes, so he was not imitating anyone. He just plain had fun with this! The vest is adorable. Everything is very sturdy. The pole is shorter than I expected, but is good for his size. This is one gift that was a definite hit!

My 3 year old daughter had a little cheap plastic pole from the dollar store and she played with it all the time. So for her birthday I told Grandpa she needed a better one. This set was way better than we could have imagined. The vest is not a cheap plastic POC that you would expect. It is very durable. The tackle box is great to have a storage place for all the pieces. We keep losing the worms, so I put them up for the time being. You don't need the worms to play. The "hook" has a magnet inside of it and the fish have magnets inside their mouths. The magnets are imbedded within the plastic so no worries about them falling out and being swallowed. The pole is a nice one piece construction and she is able to "catch" the fish with it very well. I would definitely recommend this toy to any little fisherman.
