This was a Christmas gift to my 7 year old granddaughter to go along with a cash register. It is a nice complement to play store. It would be nice if it were to include a few more pieces of fruit, vegetables, potatoes and other items to sell.

I originally bought 3 of these for gifts for younger kids, when my 6 year old & 10 year old saw the box, they were disappointed it wasn't for them(despite the clear 3 years + baby like packaging). I ended up giving it to them for the holiday, & they played store for hours!! Pretend play is great for any age & always good for some wholesome play! The money helps with learning as well!!

We have the Learning Resources cash register, and my 4-year-old daughter loves it! So, we bought this to add to the pretend play. She loves to "open" and "close" the store with the sign as well as play with all the other signs, the "sale" especially. Apron is cute, too, and nice that you can personalize it. Boxes of food that it comes with won't last very long as they are just thin cardboard. We tried to reinforce by taping-we'll see how that goes. Overall good toy to coordinate with the cash register.

While some pieces of this set aren't very durable, my 6 and 3 year olds love it. I wish I'd bought two.

Ordered this for my 5 yr. old son on 6/4/10 & received it today...very satisfied with Amazon's speedy delivery. Thank you, Amazon! =)

My son has not stopped playing with his supermarket play set, it has provided hours of fun for him. He loves role playing & playing with money. He already had a cash register & play money (and knows somewhat the value of money)so we switch our role playing-he's the cashier @ times & I'm the buyer/customer @ times. He loves every aspect of it...makes him feel like an adult. He tells me all the time that he can't wait to be an adult. If he only knew how lucky he is to be a kid, lol.

My only suggestion to the manufacturer is to make the play food more durable & not out of cardboard. The juice & milk has a piece of sticky tape on the top(inside part), but it won't stick for a long time & kept coming undone...it was driving my son crazy. So we had to put glue on it & put a paper clip to hold it in place. After the glue dried, we took the paper clip off & it has not come undone anymore. My other option would've been to use staples, but then that would affect the appearance of the play food & it wouldn't be safe for my son's hands or fingers. The only plastic play food item that it comes with is the ketchup bottle. I thought this set was a little pricey for what it comes with (should cost $10 or less), but my son really wanted it & has been a happy camper ever since he received it.

My daughter absolutely LOVES to play pretend and since grocery shopping, saving money, and using coupons is a large part of our lives - to my delight I often see her playing "grocery store" or she even gets Steven involved to make her "coupons" that she can use! So when I saw that Learning Resources has a Pretend & Play Supermarket Set I was so excited!

It literally has everything kids need to open a pretend store! The 93-piece set includes a durable cotton apron with name tag, a shopping basket, groceries, assorted dry-erasable sale signs, coupons, assorted plastic coins, paper play money, pretend credit card and shopping lists. I grabbed one of my reusable bags and I shop in their store. Most of the time, Sadie tells me what should be on my list :) The apron is adorable and I have to say - one of my favorite parts is the COUPONS :) With the Pretend & Play Supermarket set Sadie can actually play by herself or with Steven - it's a wonderful "Play Together" set - Steven writes up the receipts and the prices and Sadie manages the store and of course, I like to do the shopping!

My daughter loves to play store (what she calls it). So, we purchased her a foldable cafe, a few Melissa and Doug items, a cash register, and this little set. She loves it. I would advise you to purchase additional store items to make the experience better for the person shopping (Melissa and Doug have great options + their durable) because the items are limited. As far a durability of these products, it's not great due to the fact that it's a bunch of paper and cardboard with the exception of the cart, apron, and coins. Since she isn't "rough" with her toys, this entire set has remained in pristine condition.
