Very cute, sturdy, nice sized pieces. looks almost good enough to taste!

Also, when the pieces are all covered with "chocolate" and put into the box, the lid does not securely fit on top.

The colors are bright and the pieces are a great size for little hands (and large enough to ease any choking concerns).

We got this as a gift to our 3yo daughter for Valentine's Day. We were thrilled with the concept as described online. We were excited in our initial handling of the toy. There was grave disappointment when we discovered that the lid to the chocolates does not fit snuggly when the chocolates are fully assembled. This is an unfortunate shortcoming of the product and seems an error in design. Also, a few of the "chocolate" pieces look like they are starting to separate. Even so, both of my kids (3, 1) love this toy and it is very educational. As the description of the product indicates, there is a matching componet to the toy as well as a different colors to work on learning colors. These aspects are particularly great for the 1yo. The 3yo LOVES to play with this toy in a role playing manner. She is still regularly annoyed by the non-fitting lid, tho. For example, as she tries to "give" Mommy and Daddy the box of chocolates, if it tips a little too far while she's carrying it, the chocolates fall out. My experience with this product makes me feel reluctant to purchase more products from Learning Resources.

We thought this would be the perfect toy to buy our 2.5 year old for Valentine's Day. She absolutely LOVES it!

There are different 6 different shapes and 6 different colors for the kids to work with. 2 chocolates come with each shape (but are different in color). What is kinda neat to see is one shape is "light" chocolate and the other is "dark" chocolate.

My daughter took right to this toy and absolutely loves taking out all the pieces, putting them back in, matching the tops to the correct shape - very good hand / eye coordination. She doesnt quite get that there are two different types of chocolate (the light vs. dark), but thats okay.

My only flaw with this toy is that the lid - the heart lid - does not fit onto the heart. It does not stay.. snap.. anything, it just doesnt work. My daughter could care less, but it would be nice to have a cover that actually fit so I can easily put this toy in a toy box or upright to take less room.. but as it is right now, we can only lay it down flat to prevent all the chocolates from falling out - the lid is useless.

Overall, excellent toy for a toddler. Highly recommend it.. my daughter loves it!

This toy is cute and unique, and I love how open ended it is. You can use it for pretending, shape sorting, color matching, or even playing a sort of memory game. I found that the lid stays on ours pretty well, so maybe the company worked on this problem. The only reason I took off a star is that some of the chocolates have plastic bubbling where the 2 halves meet, so they don't fit together as snugly as they should. This bugs me, but my kids don't care at all and still love this toy.

I don't mind the non-fitting lid, although it is a little aggravating. I was concerned about the weird smell. It does say to wash before use on the box. But why? Why can't it come without that smell? There's no way I would have let my daughter play with it... I soaked and scrubbed the pieces. A little annoying you have to clean a toy before it's ok to use. Other than that, it's super cute, lots of fun, and somewhat educational for a beginner. My daughter loves assembling and reassembling, and placing objects in correct holes, like a puzzle, so it was perfect for her.

My girls (2 & 1) got this toy as a Christmas gift and they seem to really enjoy it. The "tops" to the chocolates come off to reveal a bright colored "center" so it's fun to put the tops on all the chocolates and play a color guessing game. Not only can my girls learn colours better, but this challenges their shape sorting skills as the pieces are all different geometric shapes. I also found that this can have a little more "play life" as my girls get older because they can just use them for pretend play. After that though, it gets to be a pain the butt. Since all these chocolates basically divide in half, there are tons of pieces to have to pick up and put together and this is constant if you have little ones who play with this like I do. The other problem is when you put all these little chocolates together and put them in their little spaces, the dad gum lid doesn't close properly on the thing! So my kids are constantly spilling this thing over when they carry it. Honestly, I feel like I'm constantly picking this thing up and putting it together over and over again. That annoys me.

I sent this back as soon as I received it. I love the concept and the toy itself, but upon opening it, there was a very strong fake plastic and chemical smell that wouldn't dissipate, so I sent it back.

I received this as a gift for my daughter. Once opened, I was repulsed on how much of that (STRONG) plastic toxic smell was emitted. I then tried to let the chocolates de-gas outside, for about three days. No luck with the toxic smell leaving. I had no choice but to throw it out. HIGHLY disappointed.

This is great for learning colors, we play memory with this toy, and they can learn thier shapes, plus this is great pretend food for our play kitchen. The only complaint that I have it the candy box , the lid does not securly stay on to hold the items in place when storing, but this does not affect the function of the toy just my disliking for storage purposes.
