4.0 out of 5 stars Great for pretend play!
My three girls ages 3 to 7 liked this toy when added to their pretend food collection. We didn't use it as a game. You can place the different frosting and sprinkle combination pieces onto the different colors of donuts to make different varieties. Each would take a turn 'ordering' types of donuts and the others would 'make' them. Yes, the frosting won't stay on if the...

Dont waste your money on this one. the picture is cute. but the quailty of the toy isnt any good. the frosting doesnt even stay in the hole and the box is flimsy it would never last with a child. the concept is supposed to be like the game memory, your supposed to turn over the donuts and match the ones with the same frosting. your better off just buying the real memory...

Yes, the frosting won't stay on if the donut turns over but fits in easily and works great on a plate for pretend play! Box is flimsy but we just keep all the pieces in our general play food bin so not an issue. Would buy this again. Great for kids with imaginations!

This is such a fun product. My 2 and 4 year olds like to pretend they are serving doughnuts to mommy and daddy.

I really like all of the Learning Resources Smart Snacks great play food with an educational twist. The only disapointment was the cardboard box they are to be stored in. I didn't even give it to my kids because it would have been ruined in seconds. Beware the doughnuts are hollow and if really bitten into, they will "dent".

The kids LOVE this toy bc well they love donuts! She is always making us donuts in her kitchen. She bakes them in the oven and has a blast. I wouldn't say that it is a matching game like the description states. I mean what are they matching?? But she likes it none the less. The only pitfall of the toy is that when they pieces get separated, you feel like you are picking up donuts all day.

My kids went crazy over these mainly because they love doughnuts. They are very durable and cute. The game that you play with them is a lot like a matching game, so it is extremely simple and more for very young players. Otherwise, they are just fun to play with as play food. The box that they came with was like a regular donut box, and won't last too long. It would have been nice for them to come with a harder plastic one that you could use to store the pieces in, long-term, as the frosting comes off all of them, and the 20 pieces end up all over, making it hard to keep together.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun toy -- flimsy box, November 26, 2009

My daughter loves this toy! Plays with it all the time. Yes, the box is flimsy, but I took one of her shoe boxes ( minus the cover) and glued it to the inside of the flimsy doughnut box. Then used self stick velcro to hold the flap closed. Don't let the flimsy box stop you from buying this toy! Also, loves the cupcake set from Learning resources!

Very cute donuts with frosting that can be removed. A few different sizes would have been nice, but these are quite cute!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun but requires some fine tuning, January 2, 2008
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars

This is an overall good product. The frosting cannot be flipped over as other reviewers have noted.. however - we still play a simple matching game where I make a donut and ask my 2 year old to make the same one - same base and same frosting. She enjoys this but gets bored with it after a few times. She likes to mix and match the donuts. As noted, the box that it comes in is basically trash. It is a one time use for a two year old. If you are looking for a matching game - maybe consider another product. If you are looking for a versatile food item that will produce hours of fun but dont expect a lot of educational value - this is a great product.

My son first saw these doughnuts at his school, he played with them so much, i decided to buy them for home. He plays with them as much at home. He just thinks it so neat to be able to take of the frostings and put them on different doughnuts.
