Our 5 year old grandson has been requesting these pattern blocks for the past 6 months. He enjoys making simple and complex patterns as well as using these durable shapes for props with other toys. His 10 year old brother uses a previously purchased set on a regular basis making inticate patterns which he enjoys for days.

Sent this with two component parts long distance to 3 and 6 year old nephews. They love it and so does their mom! Engaging enough to keep 2 active little boys sitting productively for a reasonable length of time.

These cost a little more than their plastic equivalent but I'm glad we went with these 7-8 years ago. Not only did our now teen boys enjoy them more but our 6 yr. old girl is using them now and, years later, they are as good as new.

As for possible uses besides play and elementary geometry, our first grader is using them now to practice addition and subtraction.

The way they are built, they are likely to be used by at least a couple more generations.

My daughter loves playing with these blocks. She learned all the shapes at an early age because of these. They tend to get underfoot all over the house. If you end up stepping on any of them, especially the triangles, beware, it's very painful!!! I advise trying really hard to keep them to a very contained area. They also need to make a better lid, it didn't last too long.

I can't say enough good things about this purchase! I have always loved these blocks since *I* was in Kindergarten (I'm now 28). I vividly remember it was my favorite part of the school day. The heavy, solid wood feel of them is so... comforting. With my older daughters I bought some of the foam ones to save money. While it was great at the time because I couldn't afford much back then I really missed the wood feel of the originals!

I bought this set because three of my kids are now old enough to play with pattern blocks and the foam set I had barely had enough pieces to be used between two. Definitely not enough to use between three.

This 250 piece set is PERFECT. My three kids can play at the same time and there are plenty of pieces to go around. Heck they beg me to play with them so four of us do!

I love the feel of them. They work SO MUCH better than foam pieces! This is one item I will never skimp on again.

We own both the plastic and wooden pattern blocks, and use and love both. I love the feel of the wooden ones, and since they have twice the thickness of the plastic ones you can use them to build more vertical structures. They are wonderful for building patterns as well as sorting and counting. My kids even use them for play food! I owned the plastic ones as a kid, and have many fond memories of playing with them for hours.

It comes with so many and is very educational, my kids make all kinds of things out of them!

These blocks are exactly what I was looking for. They are well made, smooth, and packaged in a reusable container. My kids set immediately to designing patterns and building structures after we opened them. There are enough different shapes to design unique structures and the different colors add to the possibilities.

We love these. We haven't had them very long, but my 4 1/2 year old (for whom we got them) as well as my 1 1/2 year old love them. Some of the pieces are very small (probably not appropriate for a 1 1/2 year old), so be aware of that. There are lots of shapes in the tub and they can be used to make all sorts of formations. Great learning and fun opportunity for kids, and it's a great toy for the price.

This toy encourages creativity and imagination. I love doing it with my grandchild. At first, she was hesitant to jump in, but when she saw how easy it was, she joined right in and came up with the most beautiful patterns and amazing designs all by herself.
