I read the Mr. Magee books to my 4 year old son but honestly, I enjoy them as much if not more than he does. The wonderful thing about Chris Van Dusen's books is that both the text and artwork can stand alone to tell an entertaining story. His text is fun - the kind of fun that makes you laugh out loud. His pictures are bright and full of expression. If you are new to the Mr. Magee books then I would actually start with "A Camping Spree with Mr. Magee" - it is our favorite. We love all his books and highly recommend them all. We had this book on a Wishlist for a long time before it was shipped and my son's face lit up when he saw it in the box. He loves Mr. Magee and his dog Dee. This book is sure to be a favorite for all families.

I was excited to see that Chris Van Dusen had written another Mr. Magee book. I had to purchase it right away for my 2-1/2 year old daughter. We own 5 books by Chris Van Dusen and enjoy every one of them. The illustrations and the rhyming flow of the story makes this book and every book by Chris fun to read.

We love this book as much as our two year old! It's funny, rhymes and keeps his attention. Perfect complement to his new skis! Would highly recommend this for anyone trying to get a little one to love the snow and skiing.

We just got our copy today and we LOVE this Magee book as much as the others in our book collection. (If you don't have the others, buy them too!!) The illustrations are amazing, the text is superb and the story is highly entertaining for adults and children alike. This is a fantastic children's book. Like Chris Van Dusen's other works, it's irresistible. No home library is complete without it!

My 5 year old daughter and I have become huge fans of Chris Van Dusen's books. We love the clever stories, but his stylistic illustrations are truly amazing. We have all of his books and can't wait for the next one come out. We especially love "A Camping Spree with Mr. Magee". But "The Circus Ship" is our all-time favorite and is a must-have for any child who loves animals.

My grandaughter has all of the "Ms. Megee" books. The pages are well illistrated and the stories are easy to follow. Her parents read them to her all the time. This one is one of her favorites and will be pasted on to her new baby brother.

great book, just as great as mr van Dusens other books.we recently moved from maine to texas, and reading this book really brought the feeling and spirit of maine in the winter back to us. wonderful read aloud, great illustrations. highly recommend.

We are HUGE Chris Van Dusen fans and this book does not disappoint. When Mr. Magee and his little dog, Dee, head out to teach themselves to ski fun chaos ensues, with the help of a moose. We love it! And can't wait for future Magee books and the adventures they'll surely bring.

I love all of Chris Van Dusen's books and this is no exception. This book is a very fun read for both myself and my children. My five year old son and my one year old daughter, both listen attentively, whenever I read any of Van Dusen's books. It's short so it keeps their attention; additionally, the book is WONDERFULLY illustrated. This book will be a keeper in my children's library.
