Product Description

LearningCents Bank is the Spend, Save, Give solution to teaching kids that money's not about sand through your fingertips but a necessary and important tool for living in today's world. This creative plastic bank, designed by two savvy Moms, teaches children how to organize and track their money, watch it grow, and spend it wisely - for themselves and others. LearningCents has three compartments for divvying up a weekly allowance or monetary gift. The spend compartment is the child's own money. Save is for watching it grow. Give is for others - learning how sharing earnings can multiply satisfaction. The founders of LearningCents are an MBA and a PhD mom who confess that before this, the money habits they were instilling in their children were out of line with their own values and creating stress in the family. The LearningCents Bank is a great tool for getting your own children's or grandchildren's financial situation back in line with your own values, and for teaching them these values. Ages 4 and up.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well made and educational, January 9, 2008

This is a great bank and my daughter (4 yrs) loved that she could put her name on it. Only two complaints: the slots on the top of the bank that you drop money into are a little big (probably so you can fit in folded dollar bills), but so much so that coins can fall out if the bank is tipped over. The second complaint is that the marker does not work to write on the space provided on the top of the columns (save/give/spend).

My wife and I had been looking for something to help teach our kids about money; we wanted them to take their allowance and split it up as follows: 80% keep/spend, 10% save, and 10% give to church. The LearningCents bank was PERFECT for this. We were even able to buy a pink one for our girl!

My 3 year old son received this book as a gift and we both LOVE it! He understands the 3 separate categories and is proud to put money in each. It is simple and a great tool to teach children how to save. I also love the tips on the inserts as well as the ledgers available online. You will not be disappointed if you are looking for a bank to teach children healthy spending/saving habits!
