5.0 out of 5 stars There is a secret to making this work
The reason people are saying that this cracks is because they don't understand that this is not a one coat application. In fact if you can apply a bottle and a half to just the toes, you will be a rock star. This is not a polish, this is a shell. It will take almost a week to apply properly. DO NOT RUSH IT. If you think of it as painting, you will do better. Apply...

It will peel and crack, and then it can't be fixed- and your boots will be ruined. It's a short cut and no substitute for proper bootblacking.

Apply sparingly, dry thoroughly, and then sand. You will think you are sanding all your hard work off, but after about the 4th or 5th coat it will begin to look like the finish on a high end vehicle. ( At that point you will not be able to see any pores in the leather ) That being said, don't get caught up in thinking that you can get 300 coats on, there is a fine balance, but I can tell you from experience, I ended up taking an old pair, that I had leather lustered a couple years before, through HELL WEEK (because I needed 4 sets of boots) and even with all the punishment, once I got all of the mud out, and dried off, the shine was work ready without any polish.

4.0 out of 5 stars excellent product, July 17, 2011

Leather luster is an excellent product. I use it on my patrol boots and they stay highly shined for up to 6 weeks. The initial stripping process takes about 10 times longer than the instructions claim. And it is easier to use laquer thinner to strip the boots than their stripper product. once you get them coated they wear unbelievably well and look good for a long time.

I bought some leather luster for my black boots, being that I'm one of those Air Force guys who will wear my originally issued starched to hell and back BDU's to the very end! I never used leather luster before but this pack comes with everything you need. I simply followed the instructions to the letter and within 2 days, I have a pair of black boots that I will never have to shine again!

5.0 out of 5 stars Got thru CODA, September 18, 2007

This product was offered by a Cadet at the Accadamy for a small charge. I took the offer, as I would of been up all night shinning my boots for inspection. I was given rave reports from my Sgt. and never had to shine my boots all the way through the Accadamy from this one time coat of Leather Luster. I purchased it for myself and now all of my co-workers want to have it.

2.0 out of 5 stars not worth the money -shoe shine, January 3, 2007

I bought this kit for my husband, and it didn't workout for him. It gives you a nice glossy shine at first then it cracks.
