I have to admit that I was pleasant surprised that Leatherman made this tool. The partially serrated knife is very nice as is the bottle opener and corkscrew which works OK. I have to admit I found that the cocktail fork came in handy over the holidays when the office party ran out of plasticware and I used my fork and butter spreader. This is a good tool for guys like me who don't use their regular Leatherman that much. It's like a Swiss Army knife meets the Pocket Survival Tool at a picnic and someone needs to open a bottle of wine. You may smirk about a tool like this but I can't tell you how many times at work people borrow it. I do miss the file but the scissors are very helpful and sharp. The corkscrew and bottle opener are gold anodized for a nice look. You will use this a lot more than you think.

Many of my friends have Leatherman's Wave, but I bought this one instead. It's 5.5 ounzes (compared with Wave's 8), and still have most of the critical tools. I think the Flair is a little heavy, so I'm really glad I didn't get the Wave. Plus, it's the only Leatherman with a cork screw (and it's an assisted cork screw at that)! On the downside, its internal edges aren't as rounded as the Wave's, making the pliars less pleasant to use. If you really want a cork screw, get this one. If you're not sure you need it, go for The Wave and put up with the extra weight.

Lose the cocktail fork!,

OK, well, this Leatherman has one feature I've been hoping for: the corkscrew. At this point, we can safely say that there is now NO reason to buy a Swiss Army knife. But I have to admit I was pretty amazed by the addition of a "pate knife" and "cocktail fork" to the Leatherman knife. How about an eyelash curler? Was this REALLY something that customers were demanding? "I love bringing that knife on camping trips, but how about adding a cocktail fork?"? And they had to get rid of the file to make room for the cocktail party equipment. What are those guys thinking?
