Technical Details
Works with Core, Surge, Charge, Wave, Blast, Fuse and Kick

I have a Blast and this was a gift for my father, who has a Charge. This adapter doesn't work on either of our tools. The one that works is called the "Universal Adapter" instead of the "Stadard Adapter".

This review is from: Leatherman 65010301K Standard Tool Adapter for Super Tool 200, PST, PST II, (Tools & Home Improvement)
Back when I was a kid, Beach Boys in Pendleton shirts, sang about all the things that mattered in life: muscle cars, surf, and babes. Jack Tripper, Larry Dallas, and Ralph Furley were the "King Studs" of The Regal Beagle. Fonzie was the greatest, ayyyy......

In those simple times, if a boy had a Maglite flashlight & a Swiss Army Knife, you were on top of the world. The S.T. Dupont has replaced the Zippo, and my Buck lock-back folding knife has been retired by a Benchmade automatic. The .22 Ruger has been set aside in favor of a Remington 870. I now have a Streamlight SL-20X. And I don't drive that Pinto anymore.

This was once a great company. Founded on the principle of making a great tool. Born out of dissatisfaction of the Swiss Army Knife, Leatherman engineered a multi-purpose pocket tool that was light years ahead of the tried & true Victorinox. This company made one product, a good product, and they made it well. There were flaws and limitations. After all, the tool was limited to only what was already on the butterfly handles. Oh, and no fish scaler, corkscrew, or scissors.

For a kid making $3.35 an hour, The PST was roughly 20 hours of work, or my entire weekly paycheck from my part-time job. In today's (2009) dollars, that's like $200. A huge purchase for a young man, but well worth it. In the course of the last 20 years, that $75 investment has paid for itself time & time again by saving my butt.

One of the things that my dad taught me was to invest in quality. To this day, although I don't use them much for anything anymore, I still have my Buck Knife, Zippo Lighter, Maglite 3D flashlight, & Victorinox Swiss Army Knife. I have no doubts that I be able to, if I chose to, use them until they go to someone in my Last Will & Testament. Well, with Leatherman being brand new on the market, I was taking a huge chance. But I found myself in the same shoes as Tim Leatherman when I couldn't even change a car battery with my Swiss Army Knife.

With this Tool Adapter, a whole new world of opportunites has opened up. I can now use my Leatherman tool with any 1/4" bit in my drill/driver set. Or add a 1/4" to 3/8" adapter and be able to use all of my bits. And if your set is as big as mine, imagine using your Leatherman to take apart.....except I still don't have a fish scaler, corkscrew, or scissors.

If you've still got an original PST collecting dust somewhere, get this set. You won't regret it. You won't need to buy special size proprietary bits like you would have to for the newer tools. And you won't be limited to only the bits that Leatherman manufactures in their proprietary size.
