The Pulse is the perfect multitool for anyone looking for improvements over the original without some of the expensive excesses of the Wave and Supertool. This model also keeps Leatherman one step ahead of the competition by including a serrated version of the excellent scissors found in its previous models. We especially appreciate the comfortable rounded handles, and we think the sharpening groove in the file is a great idea. This model saves on weight and cost by leaving out the serrated knife, the saw, and the extra flat screwdriver that come with the Wave, but we think Leatherman's made the right choice and kept the essential tools. After all, how many of us really find ourselves suddenly in need of a 3-inch saw? It happens--but probably not often enough to warrant the extra heft in our pockets.

The Pulse keeps Leatherman's excellent pliers and wire cutters, the improved scissors, the diamond-coated file, the sharpening groove, three flat screwdrivers, one Phillips screwdriver, and the can/bottle opener. It is compatible with Leatherman's tool adapter. It has all-locking blades with innovative side latches for easy unlocking. The best just keeps on getting better with the new Pulse. With all locking blades and rounded handles for better comfort, the Pulse offers an outstanding combination of popular Leatherman features. Unlocking blades is a snap with lock releases on the outside of the handles. Just use your thumb to slide back the lock release. Small enhancements include small serrations on the scissors blade to help grip finer materials. The file has teeth cut into the edge. The plier jaws are as strong as our larger tools. Key implements are pliers, hard wire cutter, drop-point knife, scissors, diamond-coated file, cross-cut file, screwdrivers of all sizes. All tools lock in place. 100-percent stainless steel. Backed by Leatherman's 25 year warranty. Comes with a leather sheath.

I love the Pulse! The best just keep getting better with Pulse. With all locking blades and rounded handles for better comfort. Unlocking the blades is a snap with lock releases on the outside of the handles. Just use your thumb to slide back the lock release. I can't tell you how many times the Pulse has got me out of a jam. I carry it in my purse every where I go, I can't leave home with out it!

The Pulse is a great tool. It's a little smaller than the Wave, but has more tools than the original model. The locking mechanism is positive and very safe. All the tools work well and the rounded handles make the pliers very comfortable to use. I also found that the tool adaptor I had for my original tool works with the Pulse. If it had a saw, it would be perfect.

This Leatherman tool proves that they listen to their customers. It has all locking blades like the Super tool, the sizzors and diamond file of the PST2. It's no bigger than the original Leatherman. What more could you want?

It's the perfect fisherman's Leatherman. Quick draw pliers, with the rounded edged butterfly handles for releasing hooked fish, a hook sharpening grove in the file, sizzors for trimming excess line. The small screw driver for your reel. An easy thumb control for the locking mechanism. Works with the tool adaptor you already own.

If you were thinking about getting the original Leatherman, or the PST2, or the Side Clip, spend the extra bucks and get this one. You'll be glad you did. If you are considering the larger Super Tool, ask yourself how large a piece of wood can you cut with a 3" blade? Do you really want to clean sawdust out of your Leatherman? vs buying a folding saw. Do you really need a larger set of pliers? If you need one handed blade opening with pliers, then the WAVE is the way to go, otherwise this is the Leatherman of the 2000's.
