Good Looks, good pliers, but overall, a little disappointing,
By
This review is from: Leatherman 70101003 Juice C2 (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought the "juice" on Leatherman's reputation, before actually handling it in a store. The first time I tried to flip out the screwdriver blades, I nicked my thumb and actually drew blood. OUCH! After a few tries, I figured out how to get them out safely, but I wish I had a tutor before hand. Another gadget buddy bought one too and brought his in to work to show me. He also showed me his bloody thumb - so it wasn't just me. All is not bad. The pliers are strong. The corkscrew actually works well (tried it on a tough cork). The philips head screwdriver blade is strong and useful. The wirecutters work well too. The basic knife blade is just the right size to cut a NY bagel - wish it locked in place for safety. All in all, it needs a little refinement to be "best in class" but it's getting close. Try it in a store first and be careful not to get nicked. As with all "edged" tools, for safety, exercise extra care when handling.

Finally, a Multi-Tool for Wine Lovers,
By Al the Pal "Al the Pal" (The Fruited Plain, United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Leatherman 70101003 Juice C2 (Tools & Home Improvement)
I already have a Leatherman Wave, always at the ready in it's handy belt sheath. I didn't need another tool with over a dozen functions, but I didn't have one with a wine opener, yet. Enter the C2 Inferno. It's easily carried in the pockets of pants or a sport jacket, ready to slice cheese and fruit or open a vintage bottle of wine. The blade is sharp and cuts easily through the seals on wine bottles. The corkscrew is sharp and sturdy and, with the fulcrum blade, functions just as well as a "French Knife," which almost every waiter in fine restaurants carries. The pliers and screwdrivers are just a bonus. Whether you're entertaining at home or on a romantic picnic in the countryside, you'll be impressed with this tool. Your date will be impressed with your ability to provide a snack and refreshments with one simple tool. I guess you might say that this is the "Leatherman for Lovers." Get the Inferno and begin to enjoy life!

Great for travel,
By Nautilus (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Leatherman 70101003 Juice C2 (Tools & Home Improvement)
The Leatherman Juice C2 is a great little multi tool for travel. It is small and light weight, fits well in a front pocket of a pair of jeans, and has the most basic essentials for traveling - drinking wine, drinking bear, and opening cans.
The corkscrew actually works. It is well designed and does not demolish a corkscrew. The fulcrum point for the corkscrew is the bottle opener. It takes a little practice to keep the fulcrum from sliding off the bottle, but once you get the knack of it, it works like a charm. The bottle opener works well, but the can opener could use improvement. I am accustomed to the excellent can opener on my Leatherman Kick, which will slice right through cans. The can opener on the Juice sort of chews the can, making it splash any liquid in the can up on your shirt, and causes very sharp rough edges on the can lid. One feature that the can/bottle opener can't do is open can's of milk by punching a hole right through the can. If you are planning to use this tool to open cans every day, buy another tool. The can opener isn't that great, but will work in emergencies. If you are looking for a "small" travel multi-tool that will allow you to eat and drink, or to take to picnics, it is a great choice.
