5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, a Multi-Tool for Wine Lovers
I already have a Leatherman Wave, always at the ready in it's handy belt sheath. I didn't need another tool with over a dozen functions, but I didn't have one with a wine opener, yet. Enter the C2 Inferno.

It's easily carried in the pockets of pants or a sport jacket, ready to slice cheese and fruit or open a vintage bottle of wine. The blade is sharp and cuts easily...

I bought the "juice" on Leatherman's reputation, before actually handling it in a store. The first time I tried to flip out the screwdriver blades, I nicked my thumb and actually drew blood. OUCH! After a few tries, I figured out how to get them out safely, but I wish I had a tutor before hand. Another gadget buddy bought one too and brought his in to work to show me. He also showed me his bloody thumb - so it wasn't just me. All is not bad. The pliers are strong. The corkscrew actually works well (tried it on a tough cork). The philips head screwdriver blade is strong and useful. The wirecutters work well too. The basic knife blade is just the right size to cut a NY bagel - wish it locked in place for safety. All in all, it needs a little refinement to be "best in class" but it's getting close. Try it in a store first and be careful not to get nicked. As with all "edged" tools, for safety, exercise extra care when handling.

The blade is sharp and cuts easily through the seals on wine bottles. The corkscrew is sharp and sturdy and, with the fulcrum blade, functions just as well as a "French Knife," which almost every waiter in fine restaurants carries.

The pliers and screwdrivers are just a bonus. Whether you're entertaining at home or on a romantic picnic in the countryside, you'll be impressed with this tool. Your date will be impressed with your ability to provide a snack and refreshments with one simple tool. I guess you might say that this is the "Leatherman for Lovers." Get the Inferno and begin to enjoy life!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for travel, June 30, 2009
This review is from: Leatherman 70101003 Juice C2 (Tools & Home Improvement)
The Leatherman Juice C2 is a great little multi tool for travel. It is small and light weight, fits well in a front pocket of a pair of jeans, and has the most basic essentials for traveling - drinking wine, drinking bear, and opening cans.

The corkscrew actually works. It is well designed and does not demolish a corkscrew. The fulcrum point for the corkscrew is the bottle opener. It takes a little practice to keep the fulcrum from sliding off the bottle, but once you get the knack of it, it works like a charm.

The bottle opener works well, but the can opener could use improvement. I am accustomed to the excellent can opener on my Leatherman Kick, which will slice right through cans. The can opener on the Juice sort of chews the can, making it splash any liquid in the can up on your shirt, and causes very sharp rough edges on the can lid.

One feature that the can/bottle opener can't do is open can's of milk by punching a hole right through the can.

If you are planning to use this tool to open cans every day, buy another tool. The can opener isn't that great, but will work in emergencies. If you are looking for a "small" travel multi-tool that will allow you to eat and drink, or to take to picnics, it is a great choice.

A note on the corkscrew: While the corkscrew and assist work very well and better than any corkscrew-only design I've ever seen, you do need to take a minor bit of care to line up the assist's single "leg" dead-center on the bottle's neck or it will slide off. A regular "waiter's friend" has a two-legged assist that's self-centering, for comparison. But, a waiter's friend won't have a blade that's nearly as sharp as this one, not to mention it won't have pliers or screwdrivers. The screw works equally well in real cork and the new plastic corks.

The "3-D" Phillips driver blade is a joy compared to the totally flat wanna-be imitations of screwdrivers I've seen on other pocket tools. It's multi-talented in that it fits both #1 and #2 screws.

All in all, this is yet another fantastic creation from Tim Leatherman. This one's earned a permanent place on my keyring.

5.0 out of 5 stars Juice C2. Everything I need, nothing I don't., June 12, 2010
This review is from: Leatherman 70101003 Juice C2 (Tools & Home Improvement)
If you are a heavy duty user, get a bigger one. But if you might need pliers, a bottle opener, a can opener, a knife or a philips screwdriver (that seems to fit anything), don't hesitate!!! Real quality is what you get here. As an example, the phillips on mine has had some real use without a hint of burling. Only my opinion, but I don't think most people would miss any of the additional features on the other juice models.....and remember that if you are a hiker or a camper, you have to cary that weight. Whatever you do, don't buy cheap!!! Those WallMart $10 knives will let you down when you need them. This will never let you down. Pay the extra!!!! Get what you need (nothing more) and it will server you for years (six and counting for me). If it was lost or stolen, I'd buy another the next day, nothing more, nothing less. Its perfect or occasional, but totally dependable use.

i like it as much as a swiss army knife. this one doesn't have scissors, so you might want to get one of the fancier in the leatherman juice series. looks good, i'm just getting to know it.
