5.0 out of 5 stars Fits the pocket
This is a very full-featured Leatherman tool that still fits in a pant pocket. The screwdriver blades snap into place without requiring a release mechanism. The knife can be opened without unfolding the tool. I will miss the rule for measuring things on the spot. I do not like the scissors as well as those on my Micra. I find I am carrying the Juice more than I...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not up to other Leatherman products
I carry a Squirt P4 daily, and have just used it to death - a fine tool. I also have a Skeletool and it's as cool as it looks. But then I bought one of these Juice S2's at a big box store, and as another reviewer pointed out, its build quality is poor.

Even after spending time with dry lube and trying to work them back and forth, the screwdriver bits are...

5.0 out of 5 stars The best of the best., April 26, 2008

This review is from: Leatherman 70202003K Juice S2 Pocket Multi-Tool, Flame Orange (Tools & Home Improvement)
I wanted a pocket multi-tool that was truly useful. The Juice S2 is that tool. Sure there are pocket multi-tools that include up to a hundred functions, cost a mint and weigh a ton, but what good can be said for carrying around a beast like that with some fuctions you may need only once a year, if ever. On the other hand a simple pocket knife may provide perhaps 50% of all the pocket functionality you need. The Juice S2 provides all the functionality of a pocket knife plus a small collection of truly useful tools which may provide as much as 95% of all the pocket functionality you need. The cost may even be less and the weight hardly any more than a quality pocketknife. Get the S2. You'll be happy with it forever.

I've never been a fan of the big multi-tools because they weigh too much and thus I never have them with me. But I carry the Juice around every weekend. The pliers are solid, and squeezing them tightly won't cut your hand open. I use this thing all the time.

5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect Leatherman for girls!, December 29, 2008
This review is from: Leatherman 70202003K Juice S2 Pocket Multi-Tool, Flame Orange (Tools & Home Improvement)
I love my orange Juice!! I don't need a cork screw, it fits perfectly in my hand, it has the only the things I need and nothing I don't! The scissors are perfect, the knife is super sharp and the four screwdrivers are great for any project =]

I HIGHLY recommend the Juice S2 as a girl.

I have to disagree with the gent that said that the Squirt P4 is better. Firstly, the Squirt P4's pliers aren't nearly as large and useful as the Juice's are. Secondly, the knife (or lack of one, rather) on the Squirt is a joke. Thirdly, you would either easily lose the tiny Squirt P4, or have to disconnect it from your keychain every time you needed to use it. Talk about inconvenient. You just can't compare the two. It's comparing a super compact keychain tool to it's bigger brother, the pocket tool. Apples and oranges, my friend.

I own a Black Oxide Wave and the Orange Leatherman Juice S2. Both great tools, but each has their function. The wave sees all the action at work and out in the forest when hiking/camping. Certainly a more heavy-duty tool. The Juice, on the other hand sees everything else. I have no buyers' remorse purchasing the Juice in addition to the Wave. It's super light (for a pocket size MT), the leather sheath is great even though it's leather. Feels like nothing's there when wearing it. It's also great for everyday repairs.

1. My window roller came off of my car on one rainy day. Rain was pouring in. Broke out the Juice and the nice grooved portion on the pliers helped me roll the window back up so I didn't flood the car. Let's see the Squirt handle that job..
2. On my way back from an outing, I noticed a rabbit caught in a fence off the highway. Again, the Juice was there to save the day. I used the bolt cutters to free his leg and the larger flat head driver to pry the fence away from him. He gave me one of those ''Thanks, buddy!" looks before hopping away. Let's again take a look at the Squirt and think if it's gonna handle that kind of abuse..

Anyway, think about what your needs are before purchasing a MT. You just can't go wrong with this middle of the road Leatherman MT!

I got this item off the recommendation of a guy on YouTube (nutnfancy). After a month of use, I'm in love with this tool. I use it all the time. It doesn't have things I don't need like many other variations. It's small, the pliers are great, the and screwdrives work great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best leatherman tool for your pocket, October 23, 2011
This review is from: Leatherman 70202003K Juice S2 Pocket Multi-Tool, Flame Orange (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have several leatherman tools and other multitools from swisstool, gerber and chinese brands. This is the one I've carried in my pocket for the last 10 years or so.

The reason I pick this over the others is that it has the most used tools, but it is compact enough to carry easily. Sure I'd rather have a wave with me all the time, but it's too big to fit in my pocket. The S-2's knife and pliers are about 80% of the size of the wave ones, so it is not as strong, but still very useful.

my most used tools in a multitool are: #1 Scissors, #2 pliers, #3 Knife, #4 phillips, #5 flat blade screwdriver. The juice S2 has all of them, and the Scissors, which I use all the time, are very useful.

I bought a skeletool when they came out thinking I would replace the S-2 - despite the slick modern design, it wasn't nearly as useful everyday. I've bought a couple of the other Juice tools, but they are bigger and have stuff I don't need.

The only changes I'd like to the Juice S-2 are these:

1. I'd like the scissors to open without opening the can opener - I've threatened to cut the can opener off, because I've rarely used it in 10 years.

2. Locking blades would be nicer.

3. I've never really liked that the two sides are different thicknesses, maybe ditching the useless can opener would allow them to even them.

4. Some of the newer leatherman tools seem to have a harder blade. The one on the Juice needs sharpening pretty regularly

This thing has been out for 15 years or so - I hope leatherman at least duplicates it if they decide to stop production.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best multi-tool EVER, October 13, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Leatherman 70202003K Juice S2 Pocket Multi-Tool, Flame Orange (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have bought various 'multi-tools' since they were just called pocket knives, and this one is hands down the best collection of blades and tools I have found. Sure there are others with 15 other tools that you'll never use, and carry around for years. The juice has the one ones that you REALLY use. The knife, besides being the most wickedly sharp blade I have experienced right out of the box, opens FROM THE OUTSIDE. DUH. Why doesn't every multi-tool do this? The scissors and bottle opener also are on the outside, so you don't have to open the whole thing up to access these essential functions. I am a design engineer supporting NASA, and design tools for astronauts to use when they go EVA in spacesuits, so I appreciate a simple, elegant design, which the Juice delivers.

All that applies before you even open the tool. On the inside, you get 3 good sizes of flatblade screwdriver, a nicely shaped Phillips, and really decent needle nose/dikes, which actually touch at their tips (unlike the cheapie ones). When you're up a ladder, working on a light fixture or a fan, you have everything you need. When you're not using it, its not so big to carry around in the same pocket as your car keys.

Just the essentials, well laid out, in just the right size. Oh yeah, it's orange, which is a cool color for a knife.

PS, I lost my first Juice a few years ago. I must have tried 4-5 other multi-tools, from the tiny 'fishing' size, to the huge ones with everything. I finally couldn't compromise any more, and ponied up for another Juice. Couldn't be happier.

5.0 out of 5 stars Versatility in simplicity., May 4, 2011
This review is from: Leatherman 70202003K Juice S2 Pocket Multi-Tool, Flame Orange (Tools & Home Improvement)
I've carried this multi-tool for the last 4 years, nearly 24/7. At first glance, it may seem like it's missing a few multi-tool essentials. On the contrary, the simple features included are far better than those do-it-all multitools with a tool for everything. The three most frequented tools are the easiest to access: the knife, scissors, and bottle opener are all on the outside of the tool, so you don't have to open anything. The blade is the perfect size for light duty, the scissors have some magic spring handle that rarely gums up, and the bottle opener is, well, a bottle opener. Inside the tool, the crosshead screwdriver is a medium/large size, perfect for almost any size screws you'd encounter without a real screwdriver. The flathead drivers never let you down, the smallest head is just small enough to manage most eyeglass screws. The pliers themselves are pretty good, though if you really strain them against something the join does flex.

A few years ago I replaced the radiator on my car using only this tool and some creativity. It's yet to let me down, and I'll carry it until it breaks.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good addition to a pocketknife collection, September 14, 2011
This review is from: Leatherman 70202003K Juice S2 Pocket Multi-Tool, Flame Orange (Tools & Home Improvement)
This is a good multi-tool for light use, when carrying a large Leatherman is impractical. The knife blade is hollow-ground, and holds a good sharp edge. Fits more easily into a pocket than my (pretty large) Leatherman Charge. The screwdriver assortment has been useful, and the tools all click solidly in place. Pliers are -- as expected -- smaller than on they would be on a larger tool. Handles are decently comfortable, but will dig into your hand a bit when cutting wire or using the pliers with much force.

Overall, a good piece of everyday equipment. It's the right size to carry for those unexpected things that pop up that need a multitool.
