Product Description

Leatherman Tool Group Juice CS4 Multi-tool Pliers 74208003K Networking Hand Tools

The Juice butterflies open to reveal a great assortment of rugged, versatile tools.

The Exceptional Juice CS4 Pocket Multitool

The Juice CS4 from Leatherman is packed with excitement. Built on the same medium-sized chassis as the S2, it's protected by boldly colored anodized aluminum handles that open to reveal pliers, wire cutters and four screwdrivers, as well as a convenient saw and awl. Extremely useful serrated scissors are immediately available, along with a handy corkscrew, perfect for an emergency picnic on the slopes.

Key User Features

The integrated scissors are easily accessed with a nail nick, and the regular and hard-wire cutters are simple to lift out with their small notches. For easier removal of a cork, a notched assist is located at the end of the can/bottle opener. All you have to do is twist the corkscrew into a cork, then position the assist so the notch rests on the top edge of the bottle -- then lift the handles. It's as easy as opening a bottle of wine in your own kitchen.

The Juice CS4 features blades made of 100-percent high-grade stainless steel. Highly corrosion-resistant, these blades are extremely easy to maintain -- just clean them, dry them, and occasionally re-oil them for years of long life and great service.

The Leatherman Tool Group and its History of Quality

In 1975, Leatherman Tool Group founder Tim Leatherman was inspired by leaky pipes and a cranky car on a budget trip to Europe -- and thus the idea for his first pocket survival tool was conceived. Since then, Leatherman has become an internationally recognized company with hundreds of employees and a wide variety of durable, versatile, stylish products. Created with bold designs and truly rugged construction, Leatherman products are a perfect addition for tool kits, emergency sets, and glove compartments everywhere.

Maybe the only true multi-tools with a corkscrew (Gerber had one that was discontinued). It was one of the only tools I was able to bring when I lived and traveled abroad for a year. It's been used to repair computers, fix furniture, hammer ice off a frozen fridge. Yeah, and open a lot of corks and bottles too :-)

Downsides to watch out for:
1. it is easy to pinch your hand using the pliers
2. the bottle opener "hyper-extends" on mine after years of abuse

If you don't need the corkscrew, and use the pliers a lot, I'd look at a bigger tool. If you're a traveler or camper, or urban adventurer, this is a great tool.

UPDATE 2013 - After 5 years of use and abuse, my Leatherman finally broke. One of the springs that hold the tools closed broke. I thought maybe I could get it repaired, since it is only one small piece. Turns out all Leatherman actually have a lifetime warranty. I shipped it back, and they sent me a brand new unit. Very good customer service.

I have carried a Swiss Army Knife for decades. It is always in my pocket. But lately I had a lot of call for a tool with pliers, wire cutters, and scissors. I tried a few variations and none of them were quite what I had in mind. I bought a Gerber Scout...too clunky to carry and stiff to use; not convenient. I have a Buck MultiTool and ditto regarding that one. Both are good products, just not every-day carry in your pocket convenient. The Gerber now lives on my boat, the Buck in the glove box of my truck.

I bought a Leatherman "Juice CS4" tool and it looked exactly like what I had in mind... big enough to be useful, but not too bulky. unfortunately it looked exactly like what my wife had in mind too. It was hardly out of the package before she whisked it away to her purse. Well, I wasn't going to argue.... So I signed in to Amazon to buy another one for myself.

BUT I accidentally ordered the "Juice S2" Instead. A lucky mistake as it turns out because this one has the same pliers as the "Juice CS4" but it eliminates the corkscrew, saw, and awl. That makes it slimmer, lighter and a better fit in my pocket, and I almost never use those other features anyway.

Be aware that there is also a "Squirt PS4" tool that looks a lot like this "Juice S2" in the pictures... but the "Squirt" version is a key chain tool with teeny tiny pliers. I had seen one of these at a local store and thought it would bee too small, and hence I had settled on the "Juice CS4" not knowing there was a "Juice S2" version. Are you confused yet? Because I certainly was!

I love this version of the Leatherman tool. The "Juice S2" that is. It is a home run for me. Just the right size to be convenient, unobtrusive, and yet still useful.

I had to replace my trusty Swiss Army knife, heavily gouged from a motorcycle accident and beloved for that reason. Then I go and leave it in an attic with two feet of blown-in insulation over it. Not smart.

You can hardly count the brands and varieties of multi-tools available these days. Just astounding, and searching for just the right one for your needs can be quite the project. I spent more time researching these than I did on buying any car.

The CS4, as it turned out, had the features and tools I wanted, specifically the screwdrivers, scissors, pliers and corkscrew (in case a supermodel would share her vintage wine with me in the woods if she only had a way to open it....). What the heck, I prefer the new screw tops.

The CS4's design lends itself well for fishing because of the scissors and pliers, and of course the blade and saw.

What strikes me is the quality of this tool. It is amazingly well-made with beautiful machined surfaces and seems to be made of quality steel. It, like most of these sorts of tools, is a work of industrial art, form and function. To me, a perfect product in every way I use it.

The knife blade is very sharp and has stayed that way, the pliers actually work and I have cut hard wire and misused them. I use the screwdrivers a lot and have had no issues. The Phillips actually works and the flat blades will do all the normal tasks just fine. The smallest of them works well on my glasses, a sign of crisp machining.

The scissors work perfectly and are also quite nice and sharp. The saw is very good and seems to be the same sort of pattern and sharpness of those awesome Bosch jigsaw blades. I actually cut a notch in a stud with it. It would work in hunting and gathering just fine.

All I can say is, I left my blue Leatherman Juice CS4 on the car bumper and it was gone. I immediately felt the impact. I had to replace it as quickly as possible. Luckily I had Amazon credit that allowed me to replace it for "free". It's great to have the CS4 back! I don't carry it 100% of the time, but it is usually in my laptop pack on biz days and either in my pocket or camera bag on weekend excursions.

Leatherman produces a quality product that is not only incredibly useful but also more durable than knockoff brands I've tried. Don't stray. Leatherman knows what it's doing.
